Lady Griz 48, Wyoming Cowgirls 45

Lady Griz played a tough team today, and still came away with the win.

As pretty much every team will do against the Lady Griz, Wyoming pressured the lady Griz point guard all game. Was pretty effective.

Lady Griz only have two point guards, and both are freshman. Michela Schmitz did a pretty good job today against it.

Lady Griz did turn the ball over 19 times because of the Wyoming defense.

Katie Edwards was the leading scorer today with 17 points. Holly Tyler had 10 points, Juliann Keller had 7 points, Clossen and Crystal Baird both had 6 points.

Jody Mcleod had 10 rebounds, 9 of them in the first half. Holly Tyler had 9 rebounds.

Your welcome. I just hope Katie Edwards can play saturday. Selvig said she had back spasms after the game. In a way, Lady Griz may have had her this year at all. At the start of the year, it was looking like she would have to red shirt because of her back.

The Griz looked lost against any type of pressure that they faced and had to take several desperate shots to beat the shot clock. And several times Wyoming had 3 or 4 second chances where the Griz didn't block out, I remember at the end of the first half when Wyoming had the ball for about two and a half minutes.
Nonetheless we pulled out a win, ugly, but sometimes you got to win ugly.

Played up? Both teams are in the same division. Lady Griz were ranked higher in RPI also.

TrueGriz: The cat fans are up in arms becouse Durham said they had, "played up a division" when playing Nebraska.

MSU also dropped an even uglier game, 37-28 to newly D-I Utah Valley State. Or as I like the call them, "The Slut of the Big Sky".
