I found this on the net. I found it quite interesting given that there is a history of diabetes in my family.
Kyle Sharp, San Benito
Position: Forward.
Height: 6-7.
Class: Senior.
The Central Coast Section scoring champion averaged 28.4 points and 10.5 rebounds per game, and did so despite playing with Type I diabetes. Diagnosed at age 14, Sharp has learned to manage it by testing his blood-sugar level and giving himself insulin shots when needed, sometimes on the bench during games. Sharp reached 40 points three times, including once against league champion North Salinas. Sharp's importance to the team was proven when he sat out because of an ankle injury. The Haybalers lost twice and began to win when he returned. He will play at Montana next season.
