I don't think the Payton Award is what it used to be. I think the former Payton is now the POY Award, and some guy from the fcs website took over awarding the Payton. Still, a great accomplishment, and hell, Kupp is going to win the more prestigious POY as well, so....

Yeah, me too. I really have little problem with Kupp getting the award, but I thought the announcement wasn't until in January, on the same weekend as the championship game.

the Payton Award is not the big FCS award anymore....either is the Buchanan....the FCS OPOY and DPOY will be announced prior to the chipper....

One of the best! I honestly thought before Adams bolted to Oregon that he would just be average without Kupp. Boy was I wrong but the two together were something special. Congrats to Kupp for this honor!

This year, UM defense kept Kupp to just 118 yds, compared to Jamaal at 156 yds in the same game.

Kupp's season total was an impressive 1642 yds, averaging just about 150 yds per game. He ran 201 yds against MSU, 246 yds against Oregon, and 179 yds against UNI. The 275 yds at Northern Colorado was his season high.
