Hard to say what he will do, can't see him slowing down yet or ever it's just not in his DNA... Wish he was coming back but i think Montana doesn't have enough high society or city for his wife. I could see him going many ways, maybe assistant in NBA (unlikely) but more likely head coach at a lower level maybe Mountain West. He is an alpha and will probably needs to be a head coach...

Or maybe he will apply with Wells Fargo as a Financial Advisor so he can drive his muscle car to work every day and count his Benjamins :lol:

Sometimes buyouts prevent coaches from working elsewhere for awhile. His wife is very nice, grew up on a farm, and always liked MT, to my knowledge. I know her fairly well. One of their son's is at Dartmouth now. That being said, I have no idea what they will do or want to do.

Personally - I was surprised that Utah let Larry go. I think Utah was on the upswing again. I wish the best for him and his family. Moving has got to be a drag after a while, kinda like being in the Military I quess!
 
Regardless of what Larry decides to do it's nice to know that he doesn't have to worry about the future from a financial perspective and he can take his time deciding what the future holds. I wish him and his family all the best!
 
A correction to a recent update on Larry’s salary if anyone cares. Larry was the highest paid coach in the PAC-12 at $3.9M a year. His buyout is a sweet $6.9M per year. Interesting to note that the U of Utah athletic budget is currently $35M in the red. They must have really wanted to go in a different direction. As reported by another poster on egriz he saved a lot of his salary which would put him in a very sweet spot. His future, only he knows but a year or two off wouldn’t hurt his pocket book very much.

This is from a Feb 20 article:

"Krystkowiak’s buyout is prohibitive. The latest version of USA Today’s exhaustive NCAA coaching salary database had the buyout at $12.75 million, but that was through April 1, 2019. Let’s say, hypothetically, Utah wants to move on from Krystkowiak after this season, with three seasons left on the contract. Krystkowiak would have to be paid out for those final three years, plus a prorated amount for the rest of this contract year, which ends on June 30. The buyout figure would be less than $12.75 million, but it would still sit somewhere in the neighborhood of $10 million.
 
The more I read about Krysto’s buyout the more I think he needs to do the honorable thing and just come coach the Griz women for free. Lol

I would suggest that his coaching style just wouldn't work very well for a women's program. I also think he would have zero desire to coach a women's team.

It's not just with women's programs. Larry's old-school hard-ass style of coaching increasingly does not resonate with the current generation of male players either. The mass defection of players transferring off the Utes' roster, for the last several years at least, has been a major topic of frustration for Utah fans.
 
So much for journalistic integrity. My data came from the Seattle Times. A leader in Northwest journalistic integrity. Regardless Larry will have a nice exit package to pick and choose what his next move will be.

Unfortunately the would has just to damn may cupcakes-Compare Krysco to Tinkle, Man 2 different styles but both have had success but Tinks does better w/da cupcakes! :roll:
