Are you f&?@ing kidding me? Penn State was more recent than Montana. Plus, using three schools gets the point across well enough. Including UM in there is obviously a chance to get better advertising for a book.

By the way, now all incoming students have to go through a special course in how not to rape. With less intent on stopping rapes, but rather telling the guys they're terrible people and checking off the damn box.

Huh? What does Penn St have to do with this thread topic?

Penn St was not more recent than UM. Prior to the beginning of the Missoulian articles on the subject of sexual assault, which was mid-December 2011, the Penn St investigation had been made public, senior administrators had resigned, the president and Paterno had been fired, and multiple people had been charged.

Also, Penn St's scandal did not involve students or players, or women. It was a coach going after young boys, who were not Penn St students. It was not the type of sexual assault stuff Krakauer wrote about, or was writing about in his recent op-ed.

You really don't have a clue--about Griz football or its history or anything else apparently. You come off as beyond stupid, and your ND heritage is showing. Shows how far UM is down in enrollment, if they have to admit dunces like you.

I really don't get how you haven't been arrested for public nudity yet. Your inner asshole is on display for everyone to see.

So ole crackwhore is going after sexual assaults....... with this national idiot in charge? Should wait for 2020, might have a better chance.
The national idiot, Pelosi, is not in charge of much these days.

Yes, the orange clown is doing a great job of being in charge of - hair spray. Left and right both stink and yet you just cling to the old tired political clashes. Unbelievable.

It’s always a toss-up as to whether the predictable whine that arises with every whiff of any little thing negative about the Griz program, no matter how true or trivial, is more boring or hilarious. It’s not over til the fat man sings, so … waaaaaah.

Where are the musical notes on this edit thing?

Krakauer is a bad person. Dishonest, in my view.

Although I agree with you about Krakauer, you are a male jersey chaser so to you every football player is god.

Krakauer request: Judge orders records redacted, submitted to court for review

KEILA SZPALLER [email protected]

A Montana district court judge ordered select records requested by author Jon Krakauer redacted and submitted to the court "before release."

Investigative journalist Krakauer is seeking records in the disciplinary case involving former UM Grizzlies quarterback Jordan Johnson, who was accused of rape.

The Oct. 19 court order refers to a student John Doe.

"The University of Montana is a public institution, and Doe, while not a paid athlete, receives valuable consideration for his skills in the form of an athletic scholarship," wrote Judge Mike Menahan of the Lewis and Clark District Court.

"Although he is not a public official or university employee, Doe is a public representative of the University of Montana."

Bestselling author Krakauer is seeking documents that show how the Montana Ofifce of the Commissioner of Higher Education handled the discipline of Johnson, who had been accused of rape.

"We respect that the case is still in district court and we will keep following the proper channels,” said Kevin McRae, spokesman for the Commissioner’s Office, said Friday.

A jury acquitted Johnson of sexual intercourse without consent in a criminal case.

The Doe whose UM expulsion and reinstatement was at the center of Krakauer’s request has been allowed to act as an intervenor in the case, and is represented by David Paoli — Johnson’s defense attorney in the criminal case. While Paoli only terms his client as Doe, Krakauer’s court filings have specifically referenced him as being Johnson.

The facts in the John Doe case mirror those of Johnson's case.
