One thing I've learned over the years is that the MFVC top teams are 10x better than the Big Skys top teams. It's a sad reality. I have no clue why anyone would want to choose to live in either Dakotas, for any period of time. It's quite gross. But, somehow they convince kids to come to their shitholes for at least a few years. We are doing something horribly wrong and they are doing something magnificently right. And I think it starts with their recruiting territory. At this rate, we should just offer every kid they offer, kinda like the cats do with us

Agreed. Had this conversation as I was watching the game. Bozeman and Missoula are far better towns than Fargo and Brookings. Let’s say for the sake of argument that all the schools are the same. Why would you go to Brookings or Fargo? My guess is that our schools are recruiting different kids and that they are better at it.

I remember when I used to cheer against the Griz in the playoffs, especially when they used routinely blow the barn doors off the Cats. It reeked of desperation and bitterness and it revealed the state of our program. No hate for cheering against the Cats, guys, I’d do the same thing if you were in this spot too. But you can do better, and every time PR says you should settle for making the playoffs, remind him that he sounds like Rub Ass circa 2011-2013. It was cool being decent 10 years ago, but it never felt like it was enough. PR, I am sure coach Ass is available if you want to keep up the good feelings.

It does make me feel better. You’re a true Griz fan with conviction. We can always admire and support players from the other team, but detesting the other and resenting their success, or celebrating their incompetence, is part of a rivalry.

I agree, O’Reilly should’ve made that list. He led the BSC in total takeaways.

This. Robby doesn’t give himself the stats so let’s not blame him. He is around the ball all the time and if he wasn’t Bob’s kid I doubt we’d all be so hard on him. He’s just a kid playing hard for his team and had the pressure of being the coaches kid. Weighs 190, has hardly missed a game a plays hard. You can argue he’s not the cleanest player, but again, if he wasn’t Bob’s kid would you all be so hard on him. Instead of being like a bunch of egriz douchebags, let’s give him his due. He didn’t inflate his stats.

Yeah, no point on trash talking anyone's players, they play their hearts out. But, I'll talk shit about the Cats and their fans all day long. Even if they smoke us, I'll still talk shit. Fair enough Everett. I’m a griz hater through and through. My favorite cousin is a griz. We have great back and forths. I just don’t like when either fan base calls out the boys. After all, they are just young men playing their hearts out for our respective schools. They can have bad games, etc. but I wish we can all remember they are doing their best. Let’s respect them. Others may lower themselves, I have I will admit but no more. At the end of the day, let’s respect them by calling them by their names. I’ll call Bobby names, or even you, but hopefully we can call the boys by their names. Both sides need to do better in that respect. And we are all douchebags! In some sense.

Nothing fancy about their defense. Better personnel and fantastic discipline in their assignments. Coach Stig has had 20 years to build it and continue feeding it. Their D line was much better than the cats O line. I was surprised by the outcome, especially after last year and the way the cats were playing. I was convinced that MSU was going to win it this year. Pride, momentum, and home field can be just as important as talent.
