I don’t get it either…unless I already had an offer “in hand”, I don’t think I’d leave either, and it’d have to be pretty sweet. Jumping from college to college would not be for me…

Most of them do have offers in hand because the portal and NiL works nothing like it’s supposed too.

Word on the street was NDSU had 4-5 guys leaving that already had 6 figure NIL deals on the table. College football is a mess

NIL money would be the excuse. You and Hoops are living in the past. Noble ideas, but our society in general became the “all about me” culture long ago. Throw money in front of a kid and they are likely going to jump. Money in the bank to pay towards a house they cannot afford. Invest it, buy a car or help their family out. Times have changed and that is the reality programs are facing. Not saying either of you are wrong, just that times have changed.

Saw a web headline claiming that 1,100 athletes lined up for the portal as soon as it opened. Can't find it again and don't know if that was all sports, but it's a mind-boggling number.

Both OC's with dui's and likely court dates. Rumors that a coach or two had a problem with Chambers. Opponents have figured out how to stop/slow the plus one. Out of the playoffs already. A loss at home. Asses kicked by rival Griz. The team can't tackle, kick or throw (Mellott threw fine against NDSU). "Fans" complaining about many things. Some fans thinking everything is fine and they will be national championship contenders next year.

Cat fans and team need to regroup. All is not lost. But a good doss of reality would help, at least for the fans.

My impression is that kids want to play for the Griz, and stay, more than players at MSU. Bobby Hauck and his assistants are much better coaches than MSU has. Tim's defensive scheme for the Cats certainly worked. Tim may not be a head coach guy, but his knowledge of the game and schemes is better than all or most of the MSU coaches put together.
