Kitten Spring game

And, when Vigen beats Hauck AGAIN in Missoula, one thing we can be certain of.......... Kem and Hoops will be spinning it to paint lips on the pig, and the predictable Hauck pretenders will be looking ahead to next season, when we will finally be relevant. And it nauseates me to digest it yet AGAIN!

But the really BIG questions are how many times prior to that will you be band, and what will your screen name be then?

Again? When has Vigen beaten Hauck in Missoula? He had his ass handed to him last time. True beatdown.

Ok, out of kindness, I'll give you rascals an actual assessment. You're welcome.

- I watched two Saturday scrimmages in a row, and I can tell you the one yesterday didn't look much like the one last Saturday. There were a total of 32 guys sitting out yesterday, and many of them played last Saturday. Specifics to follow.

- Somebody said the game yesterday was boring..and get this...I agree. A big part was the ridiculously quick whistles on the non-contact QBs. Reed is 7 months post ACL surgery and Tommy has been completely non-contact the whole spring. Both this guys would have had a much better day in live action.

- Two weeks ago the starting WRs were Thomas, McCollough, and Taco. All three sat yesterday. Plus we had 4 TEs sitting including Snell (played last week), Pickering, Longeran, and Schlep. That's a whole bunch of proven offensive firepower sitting out. So, quick whistles and youth made for a pretty meh day. No argument from me.

- It took a little longer than I expected, but Alexander Jr., a drop-down WR from U of Washington, finally flashed. Other young WRs took advantage of their opportunity yesterday too and I was pleasantly surprised with the WR depth.

- Chance Wilson, a QB from Oklahoma, is the real deal. Can't believe he should be in HS right now. I really liked Sean Austin last year in garbage time, and was really looking forward to see him this spring. But guess what...a HS kid came in here and flat outplayed him. See you later Sean and good luck.

- A large number of key contributors on defense sat out too. Sebastian Valdez, Zack Black, and Paul Brott were all sitting on the interior DL. Askleson, the top LB and the guy selected to wear the #41, is sitting out this spring. I do like the depth developed at DL and LB though.

- Turns out we are thin and CB. We have two JUCO guys coming in, and at least one HS kid that may challenge. Yesterday we had Miles Jackson switching jerseys just so we could field two teams at CB. Not good. This will be something to watch this summer and fall camp.

- Safety looks better than I expected. Drew Palidore, a drop-down from Air Force, moved from CB to FS and has been playing very well at the new spot. Also a drop-down Stillwell finally flashed on Saturday. He's been battling some injuries, so it was nice seeing him get a full game in. Rylan Ortt has one safety spot locked up but there's a battle for his backup. My eyes told me a freshman Brock Steele (younger brother of recent graduate Coy Steele) will rise through the depth chart and make the 2-deep. He absolutely flashed these last two weeks.

- Crews is the real deal as many on here know, and played well in both scrimmages. He is blessed with both length and speed combined with improving size and strength, and should be taking meaningful reps next fall. We have a number of proven players ahead of him on the depth chart at the moment, but I can't see how he doesn't see the field next year. He's checked every box related to integrating with the team and proving himself. This whole thing was a gift to the Bobcats.

- As already reported here, Taco will be using his RS. That does not, in any way, mean he won't be playing in the Brawl lol. He's due back in October, and I would expect Vigen to roll him back in as a punt returner (at a minimum) for four games. As far as I know, everyone else is expected to be back full this summer. I know Chambers is already 100% and we held out as a preventative measure yesterday.

- Congratulations on keeping your team together so far on the portal nonsense. I hope the Cats hold together just as well. We could easily lose guys off the OL, and I'm not sure we'll actually see Valdez play again in Bozeman. I don't have any insider knowledge, but just good old fashioned paranoia. Elite players in the trenches are in high demand, and the portal taketh away without remorse. If this team holds together and our hobbled guys get healthy this summer, this will be a very good Bobcat football team.

If only you weirdos had a football fan forum to post all this drivel too. Why are you guys so weirdly insecure that you post this shit here?

Same result will occur again in Missoula this year. MSU ain’t beaten the Griz at home. Their secondary is a sieve and the Griz offense will be a force to reckon with this year. I only have one major concern for the Griz. They need some help on the D line.

Your man-crush on Hauck is noted

This is good progress. Of course the bubz are pre-season champs and their backups are better than their starters. That’s always the case; and none of it is news. In fact, I would be concerned if we did NOT get bubtrollz starting threads over here claiming this crap after their spring game.

But bubz admitting their own spring game was “boring”. Oh boy, this is monumental, must be a first. Of course we all know bubcatz football is mind-numbingly dull, but to hear a bubz actually admit it is very refreshing.

Every time they mention their “quarterback room”, I snicker. When my neighbor says it, I can’t keep a straight face and have to look away. Everything that comes after the phrase is a blur. I picture the placard on the outside of their mythical door actually says “RB 2.0 Room”.

How does a bozeman poster start off a thread about their team as "Kitten?" Clickbait? .

Serious side note, in the interviews over the last few days, Vigen sounds a lot less excited than he did last season. Seems sort of perfunctory. Google it.

Thanks. I will not google it. You know how some people get all their news on certain topics from one source and refuse all others? That's how I am with all things Bobcat. I get all my Bobcat news from eGriz, and I can confidently say that the Bobcats suck donkey taint. I will not be taking questions at this time.

I have been to numerous Spring scrimmages of various schools. Usually, there is always a good number of players held out because of still rehabbing from injuries. I have never been to one that you could call exciting. One poster on here saying it was boring does not make a fan base. You are really stretching to make yourself feel good.

Thanks for the report. I read every word of it. I appreciate your taking the time to do it. Very informative.

Mods added the Kitten part, but I’m ok with it! And the main purpose of my post, as usual, is just to educate you guys so you don’t get you hopes up about the Cats taking a step back… only to be disappointed and pissed off when they are actually better next year! Trust me, I understand 100% what you’re going through. Year after year, maybe this is the year the Griz finally take a step back. Never seemed to happen, for several years. This is exactly where the Cats are at, so you should just accept it so you don’t get pissed off every year, like I used to!

Translation:

My dad walked out on me and my mother when I was four years old and I have major daddy issues now. It is why I am so insecure and awkward that I come on to a rivals website and talk about a Bobcat spring scrimmage. Yes I am literally that pathetic and desperate. Thank God I have e-Griz.

Well now with your post we have multiple bubz admitting their very own spring game was boring, and you are always saying what a great rep of bubmation you are.
My god it must have been worse than I ever could have imagined. Like watching grass dry in inclement Bozo. The coach was already boring but reports are his decaf was iced and he was sipping thru one of those tiny stir straws. My neighbor actually invited me to join him (I invited him first to go fishing), but I told him I would rather smoke crack thru my eye sockets

Your reading comprehension is sorely lacking. I never said that the scrimmage was boring. I said it was not exciting. There is a huge difference between exciting and boring. I myself was interested in how certain players performed. That made the scrimmage a good day for me. Not boring at all.

Then you have my apologies. I stand by what I said about Vigen however. An while we're on the topic, how do you think you're educating anyone on here? That's just not possible, but thanks for playing.

How huge is the difference between boring and not exciting?
If one bubzcat comes here and proclaims their spring game was boring and another bubzcat argues it was not exciting, who should a Griz fan believe?
Seems like a credibility issue and we all know you come up short in that department.

I said boring. Try to keep up. 32 guys held out, Tommy didn't run, and zero creativity in play calling due to the public stream.

Although I'd say Marquis Johnson was the exception. I know there's a Sac guy over too, so maybe he can say how in the bloody hell they let that kid come to Bozeman. He is phenomenal.
