Kirschner no longer a griz

In regards to Kirschner, do you really blame him?

Kid worked hard for three years, only came in in mop up duty, was constantly praised by coaches, and yet still gets passed up last year when a starter goes down by a true freshman (Moore and Kirsch aren't very similar, but still), and then a transfer comes in and takes another spot away just when it seems like he's gonna get a shot.

We went from Nguyen, Moore, Canada, Kirschner to
Nguyen, Canada, Counts, Kirschner to
Canada, Van, Counts, Kirschner.

Add Morales and Favors, and I think Brett got the idea he'd still be on the outside looking in next year.

Good post. I never did understand why they didn't play Kirschner more. When he did get in he usually looked very good. I always thought he was a better back than Canada. Not dissing Canada, just that Kirschner impressed me more in the brief periods when they let him play. Hope this is just rumor material, and that Brett Kirschner's skills are used by the Griz in 2013. If not, hope he finds an alternative and is happy with whatever he decides to do.

Brett is no longer a griz player and is not at the um. Word is he worried about playing time and coaching. Also Jeremiah Kose has told off most of the staff and did not plan to return to the griz. However word is that he did send in his scholarship info for fall. Sounds like he will be back but he did have a fallout with the team and has some attitude issues. We will see what happens. However this does change the backfield depth. You may not believe me or might say you will wait for official word, but both are true!! :/

Both are not true because Kose didn't tell off any of the staff. The only person he's been talking to is Coach Legi. He's not in Montana for summer workouts because he is helping his family with his sisters upcoming wedding. Yes he did have thoughts of not returning to play for the Griz, it was because he was homesick. Before you start bashing the Kid make sure you have your story straight.

Make sure you talk to the players he was bashing the program too. And yes he did plan to walk on to usc or that's what he told quite a few ppl.....

Jeremiah called me when he said why he wanted to come home. The team had nothing to do with had nothing to do with it. Walking on to SC was never in his plans. If you want the real story talk to Jeremiah when he comes back to Montana, because all your doing is playing he said she said.

If Kirschner left then I am bummed. The few times we got to see him carry the ball it looked like he got his pads really low and went straight up field. He looked to be a good short yardage guy who could get the 3 yards when you really had to have them. A loss to the team IMO.

Well maybe he might want to talk things over with his team because multiple players say he left trashing on the program and team. He also told multiple ppl he was walking on to sc and was better than playing here. If that's not the story your getting that's good. But I doubt a group of his teamates made it up. He is solid player, but this story is defiantly in the locker room and getting around. Hopefully he's working hard back home getting ready for this year ...he's bound to see allot of action.

He just forwarded a few text messages that received from multiple teammates who are in that locker room your talking about and none of the of them heard anything of what your saying he did. Like I said if you want the real story talk to Jeremiah when he returns to Montana. I've known Jeremiah his whole life and everything your saying he did sounds nothing like Miah.

It's summer time in O-side. Of course he's homesick. Can't say that I blame him.

Enough of this sh*t. Too much drama and we will see him in the fall. He will adapt and succeed as a Griz or go home falling short. Up to him and him alone. Sucks to be homesick (if that is the case) but my aunt always told me "when the going gets tough, the tough get going" She was damn tough.

This thread is just getting stupid now. Again, it sucks Kirsch bailed, but the Griz will be fine at RB. As for the Kose stuff being spewed on here, all I'm gonna say is, fans who are so damn obsessed with talking to, and knowing what Griz players think, say and do is a PART of the reason the University of Montana football program is under NCAA Investigation. God, just leave these kids alone a little. You can still be a super fan and passionate and still gives these kids some space.

You are a good and knowledgeable poster, and I like you, but this statement of yours is not correct. Not even close.

"fans who are so damn obsessed with talking to, and knowing what Griz players think, say and do is a PART of the reason the University of Montana football program is under NCAA Investigation."

Sorry Rep, I'm not gonna get into this with, here or PM'S. I'll say this, and I'm leaving it at that. I personally know a fan/booster of the Griz who's name was brought up and mentioned more than once during the current investigation. IS talking to players an NCAA violation? Of course not. But there are people who talk to and meet these kids and then start stepping over boundaries. And if you don't think there are currently Griz fans who have crossed those lines, then that's your opinion and you're entitled to it.

By that standard, every program in the country has violations.

UM, i actually agree every program does. But if people dont think overzealous fans, as the great John Wooden once referred to them, are making mistakes, right here with the UM football program, than Griz Nation has even bigger problems than what penalties are about to be handed down.

The investigation did not start from issues involving overzealous fans getting to know players. Most of the more serious issues are not ones involving overzealous fans getting to know players.
