I'm guessing one of our captains probably just misspoke. It sounds a lot like the famous "we'll kick to the clock" game...

Sideline reported this was by choice because of the wind. Guess we have to wait until the coach's show.

I believe the winner of the coin toss has three choices. Recieve; defer their choice until the 2nd half; or chosse which goal to defend. We obviously chose to defend a goal.

I think you're half right.

you win the toss and you choose
-to kick first half
-to receive first half
-to defend north end zone to start
-to defend south end zone to start
or
-defer these choices to other team

other team chooses
-to kick 2nd half
-to receive 2nd half

If you win the toss and say we want to kick off the other team is going to say we'll receive 2nd half. If you want to kick you say defer so the other team says we'll receive 2nd half and it makes us kick 1st half.

- kick
- defer

If you defer, the team who lost the toss can choose to kick or receive and the team who won the toss can chose to kick or receive the second half.

Once we deferred in the first half then we got to choose a goal to defend.

Dumbass Delaney chose to kick in the second half after deferring to start the game.

The whole coin flip thing was even more bizarre. The captains come out, the coin is flipped and the ref says "Montana wins the toss and elects to defer". A few minutes late the game is getting ready to start and the Griz kick off return team comes out and lines up on the south side. The ref comes over, waives the Griz off the field and the kick off coverage team comes out and lines up on the north side. The Griz sent out the wrong unit to the wrong side of the field. It was very bizarre.

So what if he had some snot coming out of his nose? Who gives a Fck. I'm sure a dainty little fag like 2506 would have got his kerchief out and dabbed at his nose before it came out but a real man like Delaney really didn't give Fck one way or the other. And I'm sure, even at 68 yrs old Delaney would kick 2506's a$$ without even breaking a sweat but he is a gentleman and I'm sure he is not big on hitting women.
