Kicker question

I just heard about a highly regarded out of state high school kicker who recently received an invitation to walk-on for the Griz. I'm just curious - is it the usual practice not to offer scholarships to kickers? Does anybody recall if Carpenter or McKnight or any of our successful kickers started off as walk-ons? I do seem to recall a thread that talked about kickers in particular but can't find it.

I'll be surprised if Greenberg ever kicks for the Griz. It appeared he always had to really try for anything more than 40.

Could this be Rehkow from Spokane who kicked the 67 yarder? I know we need kickers but unless 1 has left the team i dont see a need to 3 kickers on the team Lider, Greenberg did one leave?
