I'm pretty sure I heard Mick Holein say Kevin had a 4.0 GPA first semester. That is a heckuva GPA especially in view of the challenge he must face balancing classes and hoops. He also has impressed the heck out of me with his team play and tenacity this year. For a 6'2" guy he is simply amazing in terms of rebounding and scoring underneath. I'm also proud of the rest of the team for their first semester scholastic success! :thumb:

I heard Holein same the same thing. I believe he also said it was Kevin's 4.0 gpa that brought the enitre teams gpa up.

Great going Kevin. What is his major?

My son, a junior Chemistry major, got straight A's this last semester as well, but he did not have a 4.00. One of his grades was an A-, and because of the new system, he "only" had a semester GPA of 3.92, but still that is about 1.00 above what I used to get. Go Griz.

That's another part of his responsibility as a captain and he doing about as well as anyone can.

I'm interested about the requisite credit load to be on the team. If he's taking one class like Matt Leinart (Ballroom Dancing, Underwater Basket-Weaving) it's alot easier to be perfect, but I bet he has to take a minumum amount of credits.

...and BTW, does anyone know where he stands on the career points list after the last few games?

Kevin is a physical training or therapy major I believe (something like that) and he does not Mickey Mouse it. I love it when people appreciate his style of play. Kevin could have 4 points and still have an amazing game. Rebounds, assists and yes even shooting he just flat out gets it done. The 2006 Grizzlies are (as of now) a TEAM, and I believe Kevin is a great captain for that team.

This is such a pivotal year for this program. So everyone needs to get out there and see a great Grizzly (K.C.) while they still can.

P.S. I believe he is sitting fifth, he has a good shot at number four but it is unlikely he will pass number three. Still, some good credentials for possible enshrinement in the Grizzly Hall. (IMO)

Kevin is 5th on the scoring list, about 100 points away from Tinkle for the 4th spot. He'd have to get another 350 points this year to catch Bob Cope I think. Not very likely to happen.

Also, yep, he is a PT major and will probably be going to Grad school next year. Could be at Montana, we'll have to wait and see.

Glad to see Kevin is getting well-deserved compliments...However, he is not 6'2". I don't know why they have him listed as 6'2" because he's definately closer to 6'3". Not a huge deal but knowing Kevin, he's too modest to point that out. I'm just over 6'2" and his future Best man is 6'5" and he's right in between the two of us.

MGR, any chance he'll be a Grad Assistant for Coach K next year if he continues at UM?
