I had missed this.

On this week's episode of the Cat-Griz Insider Podcast, 406 MT Sports' Victor Flores talks with University of Montana athletic director Kent Haslam about the House vs. NCAA settlement (3:37), the Grizzlies' 2023-24 season (11:40), the UM football team (13:51), the UM athletes' academic success (15:42) and the Griz's incoming indoor practice facility (16:59).

$200,000 - $220,000 hit per year on UM, as that will be the reduced ncaa distributions for the backpay to around 10,000 "student"-athletes.

FCS needs to recognize and accept that alot of revenue gets driven by the big schools. However, the big schools also needs and benefits from the smaller D-I schools.

UM soccer has a team-wide NIL deal. It was UM's first such deal.

"We" didn't anticipate NIL via collectives, as opposed via individual businesses.

UM doesn't provide the legal of track scholarship support as he/they would like to. 4th in Big Sky Championship for track team was terrific.

Football - the toughness of the players, they just didn't give up. Has a "tremendous amount of faith in Coach Hauck".

Record high gpa's, dean's lists, credits, for UM athletes.

Indoor practice facility - a couple snags in permitting slowed things down. Turf was going in on May 24. Bobby like northern weather tuff and cold weather tuff. Non-UM soccer, lacrosse, contracts for use in place. Will get other teams out of the basketball courts.

Future - 7 regular season home games, haven't had that for some years, 3 stadium concerts, have stable and consistent coaches, except for softball.

Does UM's failure to provide legitimate track scholarship support have any negative impacts?
