The blunders being made here are simply by someone that is inexperienced, which does not mean he is not good for the Grizzlies. I could care less about the time line, as that was not the issue(s) that have come out of this.

-- Beau Baldwin situation
-- Brent Peace, non rescheduling because of fog issue
-- Not getting back to interested coaches
-- Bobby Hauck, was he ever truly a candidate from school's perspective
-- the Bob Stitt mess, what a national embarrassment, unfortunately the AD is the one in news this morning, denying the story.

These are largely non-issues.

Maybe to you, but if I'm looking to hire an AD at a bigger school - these are the type of things I am looking at.

But do you really know if Pease didn't reschedule an interview or pull out? Do we really know what happened with Beau Baldwin? Do we really know he didn't get back to interested coaches? Do we really know anything about where Hauck was in the process? I don't see a mess with Stitt. A lot of this might be fan/booster driven problems than Kent problems.. but we don't really know.. so unless we know, then we don't pin this on Kent's head.

This isn't voting for Homecoming Queen, there is no reason for him to "list" the candidates. What good would it do? Put people in 15 different camps so 90% of people are pissed after the choice is made?

Who is contacted and interviewed and considered for the final determination is the business of Haslam and Company, and that's it. It's not for the media to stalk everybody's movements and it's absolutely not for us fans to feel like we're involved in the process. What is really disturbing about how this is playing out is how the media has run with every bit of "inside info" that every swinging dick has thrown out there, it's borderline unethical as far as I'm concerned, and I can't blame Haslam at all for the fact that he was forced to go public to stop a rumor from potentially destroying the hiring process that they're trying to follow because of media headline-chasing. That's bullshit.

Unfortunately comes with the territory. He's the face of it all at the moment.

What I was saying is get out in front of the rumors, don't let them fester. Despite what some believe, the majority of college football opening do have published lists as to who the candidates are. Hell, we had one for our school president hiring.

IMO the magical anointing of KH prematurely is ironic considering one was handed to him, and now this. His fault? No, but the administration has blundered on this. He is not going anywhere quickly as so many stated, which is good for us actually - because he is going to be very very good, once he matures in his job. Much of this is caused by those with "insider" information...but thats an entire subject on its own.

You are mad at him for things that are being speculated about on a message board. You have no proof that any of those things are correct except that the insiders you believe are contradicting insiders that you don't believe. You are using circular logic. You hate the insider information that is incorrect, but you only believe it is incorrect because of other insider information that may be incorrect.

I get it. The rumor and innuendo is maddening. We wanted a decision the minute our season was over. That is not how this works when you are on a beer budget like Montana is. We can't offer 7 figures and have a coach the next day. Haslam has no control over egriz and the media. Half the time, the media is getting their information from message boards and twitter. Remember, newspapers are running on skeleton staffs anymore. They don't have the resources to do the leg work they should. It is an internet world now. In 15 years, our grandkids will ask us what a newspaper was. It is a double edge sword. We want instant info, but that is sometimes not entirely correct, or there are trolls just messing with people.

First and last are published facts, 4 is a question, 3 is a fact and not from insider, 2 I'll give you as speculation. And mad at him? Quite the opposite, I admire him but he has made some mistakes, and I bet he would admit to that in private.

This rookie put a ring through the noses of all egriz little piggies and is leading them around and into a frenzy. I suspect he is at this moment changing the name of his boat to "Suck My Wake".

I named my boat "Grizelda".

Very, very, very well said. +1,000,000

These are largely non-issues.

Maybe to you, but if I'm looking to hire an AD at a bigger school - these are the type of things I am looking at.

Every single one of those are eGriz issues, not Haslam issues.

Agreed for the most part

Egriz had NOTHING to do with a respected national football writer saying Stitt got the job...

Fans talk on message boards, everyone should just calm down.

Nor did Kent presumably.

Agreed.

Yep.

I have some questions and some frustrations, but I don't "deserve" anything.

I would say if we are counting since Delaney announced his retirement, this is a longer than usual coaching search.

Usually, the quick searches are the ones where the school doesn't say a word. If it drags on, you usually see general updates. I don't think you see the school listing finalists very often, but it does occasionally happen.

I think learning from this experience there are likely things KH will do differently the next time around.
