The Big Sky Conference has announced that University of Montana men’s basketball head coach Pat Kennedy has been suspended for Thursday night’s game at Weber State University.

Kennedy’s reprimand and suspension comes after public comments he made regarding the officiating of the Eastern Washington at Montana game on Feb. 7 in Sunday’s editions of The Missoulian (Mont.) and The Spokesman-Review (Wash.).

Big Sky Conference operating code states, “Coaches shall not criticize officials at public gatherings or in the presence of representatives of the news media.” The code continues, “A coach who criticizes officials in public shall receive a letter of reprimand from the Conference plus automatic suspension for the next scheduled game.”

Or if the Griz win Thursday, fans (what is left of them) will really get on Kennedy's case, or Hogan's case to get rid of Kennedy.

Any idea who will be calling the shots for the Griz on Thursday? Or will it be sort of a collective effort by the assistant coaches? If the Griz do win I don't think they can attribute it to Kennedy being gone. Allthough, there will be quite a few people who will try to say it was because Kennedy wasn't coach that game. If they do somehow pull out a win on the road at Weber then they are right back in the hunt for possibly ending up in the conference tournament.

Also concerning Thurs. game noticed on the weekly release that Booker is listed as a probable starter instead of Horne. Thought that was interesting as Horne is our 3rd leading scorer.

This game will be on OMEGA TV Thursday Night according to a promo they were doing last night. The GRIZ must be going to a 3 guard line-up. I suspect Horne will be first off of the bench and get plenty of minutes. Given the problems our other post players have been having scoring (besides Kamar) and Seyferts injury, going to a 3 guard scheme is not a bad idea.

Omega TV? Really? I tried every which way since football season to find one of their telecasts and finally gave up. They have no easily discernible hyperlink (I've clicked on every image on their home page without success) and finally figured they are a figment of somebody's imagination. Plus I've heard nothing but negative comments about their ability to provide a dependable video/audio trnsmission. I'm glad somebody has found them to be worth the effort.

My guess is that either Tinkle or Marso will be in charge of the team on Thursday.

Hogan was quoted in today's Kaimin as saying that he's fully behind Kennedy (this is before the suspension). I'll post the link as soon as they get today's Kaimin online.

Omega is channel 56 on Bresnan Cable in Missoula. It is a little shaky. It took them a while to get up and going when they showed the Gonzaga game earlier this year. Per KECI Wayne Tinkle will be acting head coach Thursday night.

The Missoulian reproted that Tinkly will be the acting head coach. Also read that Kennedy said he would start having the younger guys play more, this might explain having Booker start.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if teh Griz win Thrusday, or if they get beat by 40, it just depends on if they show up or not.

Since I predicted that you would beat Weber (kind of....), I will now give you my prediction on the ISU game. Now that Kennedy is back, I predict that the friz will lose by no less than 10.

If I am wrong, I will retire from the fortune telling business.

For what its worth loyalgriz I too was surprised not only by the Griz win at Weber, but by sweeeping both road games this weekend. Way to go Griz!

I live in Missoula and before this weekend was not even going to bother going to the Griz-Cat game next Saturday. Now I will be there for sure!

Seems to me, it is a closer definition to fair weather fan, unless you consider the definition of fair weather and band wagon to be the same. I do not. I consider a Fair weather fan only to root for a team when they are doing well. Band Wagon is when a fan sees something good and jumps on, but it isn't necessarily that the Band wagoner will jump off when things go bad like a fair weather fan will.

Anyway, don't be surprised to see a different Griz team next week. Kennedy's suspension may have just been the catalyst the Griz needed.

Griz envey at work again.

I don't understand why Bozorat has his panties in a wad about the Griz fans. Has he bothered to look at the attandance of rat football and BB when they win and lose. It's the same all over. My prediction is who ever loses this weekend will not make the BSC tourny. I also can't remeber the BSC BB being as bad as it is this year.
