Kendrick Van Ackeren

How did Van Ackeren, at 200 pounds, get moved to linebacker?
Funny, with the younger Ngynn, Morales and Van Ackeren, the Griz have the key backfield components for Bellevue's option offense.

If you check out KVAs highlight video, you will see Morales #25 and Nguyen #30 (Sophs at the time) in the video when KVA is at QB. Morales is lined up at WB and Nguyen at FB. Definitely a reunion in terms of the three getting to play together again.

It would appear that UM is becoming THE choice of Bellevue players...this is a good thing.

Brayden Van Ackeren was on the University of Hawaii's Spring 2012 roster and participated in their 2012 pre-season camp, but for an unknown reason, he didn't participate in the 2012 football season.

However, Brayden did earn a National Space Grant Consortium Traineeship to analyze the topography of martian land forms while studying economics and political science at Hawai'i. So, although, he was recruited by Portland State University and the University of San Diego, it may be a hard sell to get this potential Rhodes scholar off the beaches of Hawai'i and back on the football field at the University of Montana.

I've bee around eGriz long enought to know Ken. NEVER suggest academics comes ahead of football, otherwise you are not a fan....

Does Brayden not know that Montana is the Harvard of the West? 8-) 8-)

Well, if Brayden is goin' to graduate school @ The London School of Economics and Political Science, he better transfer to the University of Montana and play football. Of course, they'll have to give him an athletic scholarship or an academic scholarship to map the migration patterns of the American Grizzly Bear. ;)

Or, alternatively, Montana has a great PT school. 8-) 8-) :D

Personally, I was elated when Brayden left the University of San Diego football to attend Hawai'i. I'd be elated to learn that Brayden was playin' collegiate football at the University of Montana with Kendrick, other Bellevue Wolverines and potentially, 2 Lakes Lancers (Marquin Russell and Sammie Long).

Side note: the Lakes alumni would learn first hand why Bellevue football finishes in the top 50 annually.

It's the "who cares" attitude that has us in the place we are right now with bad publicity and players and former players doing illegal things. Yup, "who cares?" I do,and while I'm happy for the commitment. Looks like one helluva talent. It seams a bit strange. He started 10 games as an underclassmen and has a twin brother on the team. Lots of reasons to stay. Maybe he was homesick. Just seams odd to leave your bro.

Several facts: They're not twins, Brayden is 18 months older than Kendrick. They're both academically solid with GPAs of 3.3 and higher in Business. They're intelligent young men that excel in academics and athletics. They're solid citizens. I don't think living in Missoula will corrupt their strong sense of ethics. :)

If they are twins, that 18 month delivery must have been a bitch.

This is a good connection, Peter Nguyen who had a brother play for the Griz last year David Nguyen ( what happend to him?), then John Kanongata'a who had a brother David Kanongota'a who used to be at UM Western (where is he now?), Kendrick Van Ackeren has Brayden as his brother who was a WR at Hawaii, and Ari Morales has a younger brother Rio Morales who is a LB at Bellevue and was a JR lets hope we can get him next year and HOPEFULLY they can lure Buddha Baker.

Incorrect, sorry. Everybody knows Montana is Harvard on the Clark Fork.

Whoa, whoa, WHOA. Ease up on the FACTS there, Mr. Jones. This board doesn't deal well with facts in large doses.

Gotta Love It...we get another standout from our pipeline at UH! I see him going back to saftey dropping maybe 5-8 lbs & elevating our athleticism in the secondary. Cant wait for spring ball DB battles should be very interesting; WRs will be more athletic & dynamic with the in the words of Mick "its the QBs job to know his personnel & adjust accordingly..." as they run the same routes regardless to who is receiving the snaps. Plus he's another quality person to add to the stockpile of great young men already on the roster. Keep up the strong recruiting gentlemen!

I'm assuming young Mr. Henderson is familiar with Mr. Van Ackeren... ;)

However in regards to producing Rhodes Scholars, One could easily do worse than U of M. We have a pretty good track record there (actually as good if not better than football) 17th in nation overall and 5th among public colleges and Universities.

None since 1993, however.
