Kemp

The players roles are pretty set at this stage of the season. Thus don't expect to see a big change in Kemp's minutes down the stretch. He can provide a spark off the bench, and it is a luxury to have him- especially in the event of foul trouble for Breunig.
I agree with Rule, "if anyone sees more playing time down the stretch, it will be Weisner".

Citay, shouldn't all listed heights on basketball rosters be questioned? :thumb:

I am just over 6', basketball height 6'2".
Do they have anything like a BB Johnson?
As for Kemp, the one game I went to I was real impressed, but then I have only been to one game.

BINGO! We have a winner. Effort, attitude, defensive liability are reasons Kemp is not seeing more playing time.

Great first and fifth posts, Goose4 and Sport!! Most of us try not to beat up on Griz players here. Please keep in mind, these young people, yes, even Mr. Kemp, bust their asses as student-athletes.

Hard to believe that the names; Goose, Goose1, Goose2 & Goose3 were all taken.

Thanks.

I think those are like potentially valuable urls (such as Ursa'sridiculouslyhotgirlfriends.com). They get sucked up fast whether they're going to be used or not. I mean, who the hell wouldn't want to be Goose3??

I'am for the most part sensitive to the fact that most of our athletes read this board and no malice towards Mr. Kemp is intended. However when you fell an athlete is not pulling his weight then as fans we have the right to call them out. It goes far beyond game time. And I will leave it at that. I hope Chris gets his degree and I wish him much success in the future.

Exactly. Would be a great player if he was 3 inches taller, too bad.

A lot of us would have been better.

Hell with being three inches taller - a 45-inch vertical is all I needed!

I've noticed how the bench and, the entire team, shows their feelings toward Kemp when he is on the floor. He is a team player. They cheer, laugh, and support him, as we all should. He is a fair back up to Breunig who tends to get himself in foul trouble earlier in games than he should because he is aggressive, Weiner, too.. Kemp does the same for the time he is in there. When he is, the point of the offense switches largely to the guards and Weiner or Gfeller. Kemp's role is to rebound or block out and that is the hardest role on the floor to do well....He is ok. A good 6th or 7 guy..

As for Kemp, he works hard and brings energy during games. What we don't know is what he brings the team in practices, etc? I am sure some of that comes into play with his inconsistent playing time under 2 coaches now.

Nice to see some positive on Kemp. As for some of the attitude comments, and while I don't know the attitude in practice and with the team, he told me a month ago that he wants to do everything he can to help the team and to help the team win the conference and get to the ncaa tourney. In talking to him at various times in the past 2 years, I have never heard him complain about anything, or any thing or any person--including playing time. Never even a hint of complaint.

Since you all know so much about Griz basketball and Kemp, I'll ask this question a different way. The additional minutes need to come somewhere.....?? Breunig, Krslovic,Weisner. Certainly you can't say Lopez who only got one rotation(24 seconds) last night.

All of the above, especially when one or more of the big guys are in foul trouble, and perhaps some minutes instead of the various 3 or 4 guard sets. I would play him at least 10 minutes a game. There may come a time in a critical game or the tourney when he is needed. Weber is a physical team. Maybe he'll be needed then.

Do you go to the games?

I think Kemp is an OK player. I am not sure why we don't see him on the court a few more minutes. I must fall back on the coach and support what he is doing. We are better now than I thought we would be and I just simply will support our coach. I don't know?

I agree with most of what you said, but I think Kemp is better than an okay player and I don't think that discussing on the internet on a fan message board whether a playing should, or shouldn't, get more minutes has anything to do with supporting, or not supporting, the coach.
