Kemp?

Has Coach Delaney or anyone else in the AD come out with an update on Kemp? Just wondering. Seems like if the NCAA does get around to clearing him to play the season will be over, would they give him that year of eligibility back? I'm not trying to start a debate on whether he would help the team or not or his virtues as a QB, RB or WR, just curious as to whether we will actually see him at all in the next three games.

I have heard from a very reliable source that Kirsten Lacroix is representing Kemp and has been since early in the season. She has been unable to get anywhere with the NCAA to get Gerald reinstated. He was suspended indefinitely by the NCAA for receiving improper benefits related to the Tazer Gate incident last year. Longer suspension than Ohio State and Miami players for improper benefits received by several players at those schools. Something doesn't add up??

The question is: How does Gerald Kemp afford lawyers from one of the most exclusive and reputable law firms in Montana?

Because his family wants to see him at least finish out his senior season on the field? (to some extent - for what's left in the season)

That's my guess, if it were my son and I felt frustrated about this I'd hire a good lawyer too.

My understanding is that lawyers can and do give free services, 'pro bono' for various reasons. Nothing unusual about that, as I understand it. Maybe the lawyer clique on the board can comment.

Is it coincidence that the three University personal involved are gone and the NCAA showed up???

Also, plaintiffs lawyers work on a contingency basis and don't charge by the hour or a flat fee. In the taser matter, my criminal lawyer friends from out-of-state both told me that they thought the players had a good so-called section 1983 case, i.e. deprivation of rights by a city. See the link below on 1983. My friends, who have also pursued 1983 cases related to criminal defenses, say that the threat of a 1983 case can cause police/prosecutors to drop charges, and some 1983 situations/cases can result in good contingency fee cases and contingency fee recoveries for plaintiffs and their lawyers. They said they have sometimes done the upfront criminal work as part of the later civil contingency fee case.

What 3 university personnel were involved? I thought only Foley was involved. Also, I heard it was established that Kemp's family contacted the law firm prior to any university personnel being "involved".
