Actually, Michela was the one true point guard. The other true point guard was Jackie Deshaser who is also out due to an ACL.
Monaco is the starting converted point guard which won't change.
Dana Conway, is now the back up point guard. Considering she has spent almost all her time at the 2 guard, she is, for all practical purposes, a converted point guard.
Seems to me, point guard position is very tough on knees. Not sure I can list all the point guard players who have had ACL injuries.
But, here is a list of them that I can remember:
1. Vickie Austin - one hell of a point guard that along with Shannon Cate and Jean Mcnulty would have lead the Lady Griz to the sweet 16 if Vickie didn't suffer an ACL that ended her career.
2. Skyla Cisco - suffered her ACL late her sophomore season against Boise State on the road. Never was at full strength until her senior year.
3. Megan Harrington - Suffered hers at the Sentinel gym against MSU. Lady Griz were up two points at the time she suffered hers. Lady Griz went into a tail spin, lost several games before recovering enough to just make the tournament where it was one game and out.
4. Michela Schmitz - Last year. Never read anything about it, but she suffered an ACL sometime last year. Recovered enough to play this year.
5. Jackie Deshaser - suffered an ACL early prior to start of season.
6. Michela Schmitz ? - I sure hope she hasn't suffered another one to her other knee.
