Watched a replay of their game against a mediocre beavers team. Although I did not expect them to win they were destroyed and exposed. Very embarrassing for the big sky conf and MT. Sad.

Disagree that the Beavs are mediocre in the PAC-12. They may not be championship caliber yet but they are coached by Jonathan Smith (remember him?) and are dangerous to any team that they face. This is largely the same team that put the boots to PAC-12 Champ Utah. OSU is a tough out for just about everyone in the PAC-12 and would probably win the Mountain West.

What this game showed is that Touchdown Tommy is more of a one-trick pony than the “Katz” have let on. He can run like a mofo, but if he is forced to pass… oh, man. The Cats can run, but if someone STOPS the run, then there is nowhere else for them to go. And if they lose their anointed qb, then they are Screwed with a capital S.

I attended the game with friends and family. Until the cats figure out a passing game, you can count on a steady dose of wildcat from Melott and Chambers. An empty backfield is virtually a "tell" that a designed run is coming. Another observation of Mellott (said by others as well) is that his passing is inconsistent; floats some, rifles others into the turf. While i wanted to be in beaver gear for the game, I wore my Griz tee and got 5 "go griz's" walking around the stadium. I also got an "eat shit grizzlies, go cats go" from a woman decked out in orange and black ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'll be in Cheney for the cats game this weekend. Should be interesting!

Saw some of the “highlights”. Bubcatz looked like twice-baked donkey shit. Their O was always a joke but now their D is in serious trouble. Totally gave up. Have not seen that from their D in a non-Griz game for several years. Thought they were bubcat tough? What happened?

If their D cannot stop a good team, there is no way they can win in a shootout, possibly like ewe next week.

On O, it literally looked like their only play was QB run. Even when he did not run QB draw, the only RB I saw was One Trick Tommy.

Thought this was about Tom Katz, a former sports broadcaster in Missoula. Good dude.

I thought it was going to be a post about Brian Katz. Loved him as a coach of the Hornettes.

Oregon State is a very good team who is extremely well coached. Tre’Shaun Harrison and Tyjon Lindsay are super big time receivers with speed the Bobcats will never see again. They will give USC all they can handle next week. Oh, and they hammered USC last year as well as Utah. Oregon State could absolutely win the PAC 12. Much better than the Washington team we beat last year.

Threads like this are embarrassing. Did you really think it was going to be a game? Heck.. You probably don’t even know Jonathan Smith’s history.

Pocahantas saved him from being killed by her father in Virginia. She then went away to England with him. There he shamefully ditched her.

It was all very sordid. If you care there is more details on his wikipedia page. Yet the guy can coach. I'll give him that.

No, maybe, who cares, no(has USC been good since cheating was only allowed in the SEC), big deal; they both suck, again no but who cares if they did, it's the Pac 10. and NO.

This should cover every nonsense statement you made.

Is North Dakota State shitty too? Since they lost to Arizona and the PAC 12 is horrible? Man, the Griz are gonna have a cakewalk going forward since we won’t play any good teams.

The coach is going to get Tommy hurt!

they play better when injured, ........I believe between the two qb's they rushed 27 times and the actual running back 2 or maybe 3x's.the two qb's accounted for 170 of the 168 total rushing yards, I guess the rb were going backwards a little each time so they stopped using them

Kittie fans night just as well sell their Frisco tickets and not buy anymore after pathetic performance. TD Tommy has a ways to go and defense was awful

Think some good old fashioned cat hatred rubbed off on him when he was OC for the Griz?

I got to meet him a few times, once while he was QB for OSU and at a couple of charity events in Portland. Super nice guy, super focused, and a gifted football mind. I see a lot of Mike Reilly in his coaching style but also a bunch of Robin Pflugrad as well. His offense is pretty Pflu-esque with how it flows and distributes the ball, although he added a more robust rushing attack. Possibly a reflection on his time in Corvallis and Seattle.

From the coaching chaos that OSU had a few years ago, he’s righted the ship while instilling the correct ethos and mentality of a quality program. I honestly think his tenure in Montana informed on that. He could make some serious coin at more prestigious schools with more of a tradition, but he’s like Bobby: back at his alma mater living the dream.

Not every school can get a 7TH year senior as their qb. Not that many schools would want that. I bet by year seven Tommy would have those things worked out.
