Kareem Jamar and Mathias Ward!

Jamar was amazing tonight (last night too; heck, all year he's been good) and he really took control of the game, but another key was Ward -- his hot start to the 2nd half changed the whole tone. Shoot, the whole team effort was a joy to watch.

That kid was amazing tonight. Crazy to think we have him for two more years after this!

He really was incredible out there.

The only question is whether him or Cherry is the favorite for Big Sky POY next year... wow what a backcourt!

The great thing too about Jamar is, he is one of the best passers in the conference. Complete game, and man is he fun to watch.

Okay, I have been contemplating this way too long. I am finally 100% sold on considering Kareem a NBA prospect. He has the complete game offensively, smarts, and well above average awareness. I have been wondering if he has the NBA range, but long shots are looking routine for him now.

Offensively, he has me sold. What more does he have to do for me to be as convinced about him, as I am with Cherry, and Lillard? I have not seen enough explosiveness from him taking the ball to the hole, but man, he makes things happen anyway. I am not sure of his defensive quickness, but very seldom see him out of position, and very seldom gets beat by his man, no matter who he is guarding. I am beginning to think he will never be a shut down defender, but am beginning to think he won't be a defensive liability either.

His instincts, awareness, confidence, and basketball IQ, all get high grades from me. Those things do not leave a player of his age. It is scary he has 2 years to work on what he needs to work on to get there.

With that said, I believe he is on the NBA radar now,as a borderline talent. I am not quite ready to elevate him as more than a prospect at this stage, but am looking forward to see how much higher he can take his game, and his stock? DEFENSE and quickness, Kareem!!!!

It will be a fun 2 more years with him, and 1 more year with him and Will. :thumb:

In a game featuring two of the best Big Sky players ever, the Tourney MVP goes to UM's sophomore star. Go Griz!

It is is always great going into the March Madness on a hot streak. I can only imagine what kind of show the Griz would put on if they can put together two halves with the performance they had in the second half.

Not sure he is quick enough for the NBA. His offensive skills are there, but can he create a shot against NBA caliber players?

Growler, exactly why at the end of the next to last paragraph, I posted DEFENSE and quickness, Kareem. If he can improve the quickness part alone, that helps the Defense too. He has 2 years build his game, and with Will Cherry pushing him, I expect him to get better.

that is funny. superstar in the making...

Upon further reflection, the thread title should have been "Kareem Jamar and Mathias Ward!" And so it shall be.

Let's hope he doesn't go all "Lillard" on us and get so good he leaves after 3 years. :o

Ughhhh if he's good enough to leave and be a first round pick after next year I think that would be just fine. :thumb:

Hard to fault that, I know....this season hopefully has at least a couple more games to go and I'm ALREADY looking forward to next year with both Cherry and Jamar returning... :thumb: :thumb:
