Justin Ford—INT Number

I know it’s gonna be tough for him to get the nine he had last year, but I think he’ll at least match it. Eight interceptions in eight games will be tough to match, but anything’s possible. What do you all think?

I think 5... they are not going to throw near him

For what it’s worth, I wanna say only 4-5 were thrown to his receiver last year. The rest just happen to bounce his way or he was in the right place at the right time.

Yeah that number will be way down. I’d set the O\U at 3.5 and lean to the under. As Payton and Bama suggest, teams will avoid him, and INTs often involve a fair amount of luck.

I understand what you’re saying, but won’t he be on their number one? Does he strictly play on the left side, or do they move him around? He’s just so opportunistic.

I think they move em to wide side and short side, like what they call the boundary corner but an offense can line their #1 on either side. Not 100% on that but that’s what I’m pretty sure they do.

I’d agree with this exactly. My guess is 3.

It depends a little on if they play play/boundary or match up. Last year they tended to put Hicks-Onu on the play side with Fouch or Cotton sitting in the under/slot route. Ford was then able to watch his check and then drift inside where he hawked the ball like almost nobody in Griz history. There is a good chance they use Dawson, who is great 1 v 1 in the same role as Hicks-Onu. I'd still be surprised if Ford got to 7 let alone 9. Unless you play safety, picks don't usually come consistently, it's more like desert rain. That being said don't sleep on Walker, he can play.
