When was the last time we picked up two players from such an elite HS? They played against the best of the best.

In the several years that UM has picked up 2 or more from Bellevue High.

Bellevue High has a great football program but i don't think its holds the weight of Long Beach Poly. IMO

Bellevue beat Long Beach Poly 20-16 in 2005.

Bellevue ended De La Salle's 151-game win streak in 2004, 39-20.

Bellevue beat Serra this year. Don't know how good Serra ended up being. "Bellevue, ranked 13th in the country, opens this season Saturday against No. 17 Serra (Gardena, Calif.) in California as part of the Honor Bowl series, riding a 54-game win streak, the third longest in the country. "

Bellevue beat Trinity (Texas in 2012). "Bellevue, ranked seventh in the nation by ESPN, sealed the win when Nathan Derider intercepted a Trinity pass in overtime. Budda Baker’s 14-yard touchdown run on the Wolverines’ first possession of overtime had just put Bellevue on top."

Not even close

In head to head competition, Bellevue 1, Long Beach Poly 0.

I hope your Calhoun prediction turns out to be a bit better than your UM middle linebacker prediction last year.

He should be playing corner, and let him get his offensive kick returning kicks and punts. We have enough talent at WR right now.

Agreed. He's got Tru Johnson written all over him. :thumb:

The Griz beat Marshall in 1995.......................

I can only tell you who is the better talent and player is, I cant play them. I suspect that my predictions will be a lot more in line with Stitt as our HC, he seems to know what he is doing so I dont expect to see Nguyen on the field.

I agree with you. I don't see Nguyen having the speed that Stitt wants. He is probably going to be on the outside looking in.

More like Stitt prefers RBs with hands attached to their wrists!

I think Nguyen could do well in the new offense. Nice acceleration, shifty, and can catch the b ball out of the backfield. Nguyen had no lost fumbles last season. His official fumble states are 1-0. He and Favors were the the only backs not to lose a fumble. Canada 4-2; Van 1-1; Logwood 1-1.

The Griz have never had a player at any position that had more potential to fumble than Nguyen.

He does it most games, I guess it runs in the family......I bet if they were honest they would admit as much. Unlike others who constantly spin and deflect.

I do not think Stitt will be swayed and should make the right decision.

I think Justin Calhoun would have received more attention if he hadn't played CB. He's a great returner, great receiver, but once you start looking at him as a defensive back, where his height and weight become an issue, suddenly the com-parables take a little polish off.

He'll be great on offense.

Than how come every time he touches the ball I hold my breath????

Calhoun will be a name to be talked about on EGriz the next four or five years! This banter about corner or receiver will play out as we move on. However a kick returner is much needed and Calhoun will be sure to be tried at that spot.

We will get a great returned for 2015. A much needed improvement.

Don't know. I assume you can read the official stats and see that he had 1 official fumble and didn't lose any last year? Maybe because you think catching and returning punts is the same thing as running from the running back position? Maybe because you don't understand football?
