YOU CAN ONLY WATCH PROGRAMS THAT ARE ONLY BEING STREAMED ON ESPN3 with Charter internet, if you try any program that is also being shown on tv they will ask for you to login.

Since these games are on game plan does that mean we won't be able to use the espn3 option?
Its on both.

No they will be on espn3, it's just the regular network channels that you cannot access thru the website.

So for example it shows the GRIZ game with espn3 next to it so you can watch it on the website thru charter but for example it shows the The Louisiana tech vs Marshall game as well but it has ESPN 2 next to it so you cannot watch that one.

I get that. BUT, It says if it's on tv you won't be able to get to it on Charter internet without the login. So, since it's on Game Plan (i.e TV) does that mean Charter internet won't allow ESPN3 without login - and that will fail.

I don't think Gameplan is what they mean when considering TV. It refers to the normal tv family of networks, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, etc.

+1

A lot of the games that are shown on Gameplan are the ones you can access from ESPN3.

I may be misunderstanding this, but I thought Charter only gives us access to Montana/Montana State games. If that is the case, it would explain why the "test games" weren't working. I can't watch anything else, but I can watch Griz v SD, Griz v NDSU, Cats v SDSU, and last years playoff games.

With charter I can watch any of the games that are on ESPN3 as long as it is exclusively on ESPN3 and cannot be found on the normal family of stations.

Charter told us that app won't work on cellphones, ipads, etc.

I got it to work on my iPad by clicking on the "self help" link and logging on to the Charter site for Montana customers. I couldn't log on from the main screen.

Shenanigans.

I was able to watch the game just fine on my laptop via espn3 last week, and I have Charter in Missoula. I also have a watchespn app on my phone where I can watch espn3 just fine as well.

I believe the key is, that after you select "Charter" from the drop down, your username and password is your login/password that you'd use to access your @charter.net email, so:
<your username>@charter.net and your password. You do need to have your @charter.net email setup first though.

In all fairness, the first evening I tried it (a couple nights before the game), I was using the Chrome browser and it wasn't triggering the login at all, and if it did, it would just hang. I tried FireFox, and it worked there, and since then, it doesn't matter if I use Chrome or FireFox.

One thing to note though is that none of the games/replays on the other "WatchESPN" channels will work. Just the ones on ESPN3.

Hope that helps.

this ^ seems to be two different log in sites. Don't log in on the "watchespn" site. Log in at
http://www.connect.charter.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
first, then go back to
http://espn.go.com/watchespn/index" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and all should work
that's what we have found. It works wonderfully for me-

I just called Charter and explained the issue. The guy was kind of confused and said he didn't have any info about ESPN3 or the Griz game, but hooked me up for 1 week of Gameplan anyway. It shows up on channel 876 tomorrow under the channel name EPPV2 and lists the Griz game tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed. :thumb:

After dealing with Charter on several issues over the last week (including having to make multiple calls on 2 gameplans) we have concluded that they are not the sharpest shovel in the drawer.

True. Even when dealing with dish network. They don't have the brainiacs working the phones or customer service. I have just kept calling in the past until I got an agent that understands and knows what I am taking about. And usually it is someone without an accent. IMHO.

I ordered GamePlan via the 'live chat' option on Dish. Took about two minutes.

Ok, I messed around online again this morning and think I have espn3 working for the game. I'm not exactly sure what I did, but now if I click directly on a live game (not the watch now link) the game comes right up. I've got my computer hooked up to the TV and watching the Richmond vs CC game. The picture quality is about 80% of the cable broadcast, but its free!

I just talked to Charter about logging into ESPN3. I was able to get ESPN3 with Optimum in Missoula, but apparently not now that they have become Charter Communications. Pretty frustrated right now, I really didn't want to pay them an extra $25 to view the game.

As much as I hate paying, I hate the lag on ESPN3 more so I willingly forked over the loot last week and this week!! Go Griz!!!

I really hate their automated answering system - takes forever to get through to a live person - maybe it's because it has a hard time determining whether to use the English or Mexican translator....or maybe it just doesn't understand my cursing!

I'm running the WatchESPN app on my iPad. I tried logging into it the way I log into the Charter website and it didn't work. Then I tried the email Charter gives you, as my login and it's working perfectly.

FYI. My email address was the [email protected].
