Do some of you drink so much during games, that you can't remember the games accurately? I am trying to figure out why your recollections are so bad. The amount of inaccurate information coming from some of you are astounding at times. I'm glad posters like AZ and others are willing to take the time to provide factual information when possible. And then posts like your last post are so childish. Jeez, how old are you?

I think 84 was stating here that because Gus is not a regular threat to keep on the zone read, the backside DE can crash down the line and often make the tackle before the offensive line has established the hole for John to skate through.

Nguyen referenced his style in post game comments. He has become more patient behind the O line. SDSU's coach also referenced how the Griz O line doesn't fire off the ball but rather they "pitter patter and then block their gap, or something to that effect.

This pitter patter and patience by John is probably a matter of no more than a half second or so, but can be enough time for the backside DE to get there since he doesn't freeze on Gus.

I don't think DEs are tracking down Nguyen when he gets downfield.

Correct, Brady's running ability is just not going to keep the D end honest and he is going to crash down the line where he can catch John waiting for the hole to develop.

Best example I can give on this is the difference between the 2012 vs 2014 Griz Cat games. In 2012 Cats did not care if SSH ran the ball and Schreibeis, there backside end was crashing down the whole game and ended up with like 16 tackles. Cats tried the same thing with Jordy in 2014 and he toasted them for 80 plus yards in the first quarter and they had to stay honest the rest of the game.

Don't think the Griz aren't running much zone read with Brady. The tackles are blocking the d-ends.

I think John Nguyen does a good-to-great job on pass protection. He'd be better at it if he were four inches taller and 40 pounds heavier, but he always seems to identify who he should block and he blocks him.
