Just another thing for Griz fans to ponder.

So this asshat tries talking shit about the Bobcats having a "Vision" for future expansion plans....without any funding...any schedules....any ground breakings....this is literally something every school has.

ALL WHILE...the Champions center literally opens in 2 weeks...we just finished academic center.....we just finished stadium upgrades and got a new video board.....

Am I missing something here? What a dumb f***[*] post! Everyone is trying to catch up to us if you havent noticed retard in a handbasket

Odd, all I said was something for Griz fans to ponder.

pon·der

verb
think about (something) carefully, especially before making a decision or reaching a conclusion.

Not sure why everyone is getting their panties in a wad.

Replacing the heffer mud-wrestling area with a track and field complex is not an upgrade. It's an insult. I'm so sick of the body-shamers these days. It's like telling the Yokozuna he needs to go on a diet. Waded, you should be ashamed of yourself--these girls look up to you and you should accept them as they are.

Getting panties in a wad is one of the primary reasons this forum exists, its the oar that keeps the boat moving if you will.

Forgot it was eGriz.

I know the indoor practice facility is big on the list but I believe the next major upgrade is redoing the men's basketball and women's locker rooms. It was my understanding that once they move the weight room and the football team to the Champions Center they are going to redo that space for the other sport's locker rooms.

I'm pondering what you want the Griz to do? New Champions Center, new field, new academic center... What would make you satisfied? The bobkitties have the benefit of having space near their box to add on improvements. Where would the Griz build an indoor practice facility? Should we just put a roof over the stadium? Relax, MSU is trying to get better just like UM.

big giant area NW of the stadium.

Area is considered "open space" and not fit for buildings.
everything is considered "open space" until you put something on it.

Honestly, I think it is great that MSU is attempting to make these additions. While I always want to see the Griz doing better than the Cats, seeing the other major in-state program do well is good for everyone and lead to the desire to always improve the program.

As long as our admin, athletic department, boosters, and fans are up to continuing the arms race, I agree. Unfortunately we need the students and their money to keep up in the future. Continued support and focus on excellence in the athletic department needs to happen. Without boosters and fans supporting this (spending money) we could be way behind for years to come. Hope it doesn't happen, but we need to step it up.

Womens' locker room upgrade was done this summer.

This doesn't show or talk about the Crew team that will practice in the pond behind the football stadium....Come on guys!

There are plans for an indoor practice facility with all the bells and whistles. Cost was pegged at approximately $15 million, but it is too big to fit near the on campus athletic facilities and it would have to go near the south campus soccer, softball and track complex. This is a major disadvantage so they will likely build a slightly scaled down version of their full plans to fit in the river bowl area. This was originally estimated to be a $10 - $12 million building. It is the next major planned build. Although the money hadn't been donated yet, there is a plan and some hope to gain funding. However, no guarantees at this point.

Funds coming into the GSA are down for the year.

It all started to decline with Engstrom. It's amazing how much damage one person can do. Had heard several times that when Shannon Schweyen interviewed with him for the head job, he asked her if she had played for the Lady Griz. Confirmed this story with another former LG and someone from the athletic department.

But Foundation giving has set records each of the last five years, and projected to again this year. A project of this size would not be funded by the GSA anyway, so there's little relevance to your post.

I hope to god they don't build on the River Bowl area. That really is a nice open area. It'd be a shame to see that closed off and developed solely for athlete use.
