Just another team

Griz played great overall. Take the 2 turnovers away, and we likely win by at least a TD. Cal Poly is a tough team, and those 14 points off turnovers were too much in the end. Nothing to be ashamed of in this game...possibly the toughest offensive challenge our D will face all season.
Wait for EWU if you want to see offense.
Yeah, I bet the Griz will put 50 on em! ;)

EWU and NAU were on TV in Slotown and trust me, UM is going to have to play a perfect game against both. EWU has a pretty good defense when needed. And, NAU is very balanced. Damn, that kid tossing the ball at NAU is very, very good.
Nau lost their qb in the 4th wonder what his deal was?

Shoulder injury.

Yamen was not ready physically or mentally through practice to play in this game. Slow to react, out of position, and obviously gassed on CP's last TD. Give credit to CP's OC for seeing who they could exploit.

We needed JR Nelson!

I don't think JR would have solved the issue with the Safety play.

Sure would have been nice to find out...

Well, since JR does not play safety, I am not sure what they could have done differently at that position.

It frees up some one to cover deep because JR can cover one on one effectively. We used to beat Cal Poly when we had Trumaine. His one on one cover allowed the defense to do a lot of different things.

So you want to remove a safety from the game against the triple option and replace him with a corner? They were already playing man on the outside. CB was not the issue.

Having JR makes the defense better. It makes other teams offense line up different. It definitely changes who covers who. It decides which receivers go deep against our defense and who doesn't. Secondary coverage changes the entire game. Maybe it wouldn't have changed the deep receiver that beat Yamen, but who knows?

Poly was not going to line up or do anything different. It also would not change the safety responsibility against the triple option.

Born....I thought the QB play was excellent today.

I'm with you there! I thought Brady and the offense did great overall. Minus a few bad breaks the Griz would have been the victors.

The game was very exciting.

Here's to hoping we have a mobile QB in the works.

Agree. Griz need a QB who can make yardage/first downs when pass routes are covered. Brady is not at all mobile, and he falls down in a stiff wind. He is also prone to fumble. You don't win championships with such a QB. He is a good passer, but a championship QB needs greater versatility.

And what about UM'S DC for having him still out there when so gassed?

This, for sure.
