Junior Bergen Status ?

I just noticed in some videos in the fall camp coverage he was always wearing the blue jersey. He was participating in drills but wasn't full contact. I hope he's ok.
 
I'm probably gonna get chastised for this, but hear me out. Bergen has never used his redshirt year. Why not use it this year and then we can get him back this year? He gets 4 games, plus all of the playoffs without it counting against him. Think about it, when you look at our schedule, how many of these games do we truly need him for? I would say UND, Davis and the cats are the only for sure ones. It would probably be good to have him for Eastern too just cause that can be a tricky game. I'm not saying the staff would ever consider doing this but if he has setbacks, it's probably not a bad idea.

Except for the issue that he may not want to come back another year. I also think they need him on the field for all the games possible.
 
I will say they have been practicing Xavier in the slot, as well as in the backfield kind of a Swiss Army knife. He had an amazing spring, maybe the best of any offensive player in the spring game and I’m guessing has been amazing in fall camp. If Junior is out, we have a very capable slot receiver, ready to go.
 
I was wondering when he’d be able to return. Sounded like a pretty painful injury.

Happy to hear he’s on the mend.
