I don't think it's as cut and dried as that. If the charges are bogus then the U should have stood by him, and Pflu did just that and got fired. Facing criminal charges is one thing, but the backing and belief in yoour innocence is another thing, and I think he's getting the read that the U isn't solidly behind his cause, so I would be inclined to say F-you and walk. Life's too short to be jerked around by a bunch of namby pamby process types that tuck their tails between their legs at the slightest hint of unfavorable publicity. He can fight the charges elsewhere, besides I question his attitude being ruined by all of this.

And Maybe he is as good a kid as suggested, had a few too many and knows he stepped over the line (no matter what their initial intentions were they occasionally change closer to the "act" as anyone who has been married for any length of time knows and simply hopes to work this out. EVERYONE who is not JJ or the young lady has to wait until the case and the actual evidence sees the light of day to make any sort of statement to JJs guilt or the young ladys guilt in falsely accusing JJ. Guys do rape girls and girls do falsely accuse men to hurt them and get revenge for their own reasons.

Well since you asked....I will share.

First of all if I raped a chick she would definitely like it and pay for my cab fare and any medical.

Second, if I was JJ knowing I am already labeled....I would embrace it, not leave and capitalize on the situation.

I would have a complete line of T-Shirts regarding the incident that I could make money off of. Maybe some novelty items like signed duct tape, rope made into the #10 and morning after pez.

If you guys would like I can post some of the shirt ideas.

As someone else has already noted, I too have some concern that having the feds investigating the university and county attorneys office, will cause those bodies to go out of their way to conclude in favor the accuser. However, if the county attorneys office and university have true integrity, they won't bow to the pressures and do something that they wouldn't otherwise do under their normal policies.

Don't you have to wonder exactly how informed this conduct commission would be about this incident, PR? I have to think if the accuser has lawyered up, which she did very early on, that she's being very cautious about what she says to anyone about this issue. If the wrong thing is said to the conduct commission, you can bet it's going to show up in civil court later on.
Thinking about the accuser's complaint to police, as well as her narrative-less request for a TRO, she has provided no details about this alleged incident, other than to name the offense and Johnson. That's not by accident. Why would you be so cautious and then open up to a college disciplinary committee? The U has no power to compel you to disclose anything.

Yes, that's probably correct, but I think she could safely provide basic information without having it come back to haunt her. However, JJ has similar or larger problems in defending. What he says now in the college proceeding could be used against him later in any legal proceeding. Normally, a defense lawyer wouldn't want his client ever saying anything. Then, just before or during trial, the defense can decide whether to put the accused on the stand. (Jimmy Wilson didn't testify. John Edwards didn't testify.)

I wonder if the lawyers are doing most or all of the talking for the two parties. I'm assuming the accuser's lawyer is involved directly in the proceeding, but don't know that.

The problem for JJ with the university proceeding is that the standard has recently been lowered, or the university is at least trying to use the lower standard. I don't think it's clear that the university can use the lower standard in this situation, giving the timing and problems with adoption. The lower standard is preponderance of the evidence, so that means 51% or more. While I don't believe any university should ever take action in a serious matter like this at 51%, they could. That standard is so low that it basically allows the panel to do what it wants, assuming this is basically a he-said/she-said, as has been reported on the board.

I don't suppose you could show me where passed any judgement other than to suggest that maybe it isn't a case of either he did or didn't but could fall someplace in between and that he could possibly be thinking he made some bad decisions and wants to move forward. Whether that is here (or elswhere) is a choice only HE can make. And frankly NONE of us will ever see enough evidence to make a decision. We can only hope what happens works out for both. And maybe future players will learn a lesson too.

Why would you stay there over the summer he needs a break. Expect most of our guys to stay away this summer to let things settle a bit before they start to come in for summer workouts.

All I know is Wolcott, Henderson, Saylor, should be in JJs ear about doing work in Eugene a couple times this summer. Schools out Boys, but work to do!
