j.j. is good, not great. he had a better year than i expected coming off a year off. i think he'll be better next year. he isn't as inconsistent as he used to be, but he's not an elite q.b. two wins against the cats though, so you can't complain there.
Oh god, look what the cat dragged in.

JJ was a F*CKing Warrior today. He took a damn beating out there....those hits hurt twice as much in the cold. He got his leg munched twice and still gutted it out. He was off on some passes, that is true, but the Receivers were getting Very Little separation against man coverage and he had limited time due to the constant blitzes.

JJ lead the team back and gave them a chance in the second half. He battled his ass off and wishes he had a couple of those throws back but credit Coastal, they had a good gameplan and executed it well.

CC was giving us one-on-one on the outside and for the most part JJ couldn't make them pay. I thought he played OK but obviously was not on the same page as Jamal and Ellis on a number of plays. They had to win those matchups and whether it was a lack of separation or a lack of communication the Griz didn't exploit those matchups the way they needed to to win.

So if Jones wouldn't have made that bone head penalty (not the first one like that either) after his impressive score would the Griz have tried for an onside kick???

Jordy took a beating today but he was off. He kept the griz in it but you're rushing game wasn't very good. Griz D came out and made great adjustments in the second half but the hole was too deep. Ross' scrambling was a big difference IMO. Made more than one great scramble. Can't remember the last time griz didn't have a kicker. Having a great FG kicker won the griz more games than I can count in the last 20 years.

JJ was pure guts today and my hats off to him. Sad to see Coyle and Tripp go out but won't miss them. What a couple of great football players.

Agree except for the run game was solid to start until it became it's usual predictable pattern.
Yes, many games have been won in the past by a clutch FG kick or two and that is sorely missed this year and last. The go for it every 4th down mentality was a thorn in the side of Griz football down the stretch and it was only a matter of time before it caught up to them.

I doubt it, there was still over 5 minutes left, probably would have still kicked away and tried to pin them deep.

Yup. Bound to catch up with ya. I thought Ash had it figured out when he signed Cunningham but then he graduated and we had Perez and had to start going for two. Have to have a place kicker on scholarship. I'll always remember what Bobby said after carpenter missed for the win. "Don't think about this one. Think about all the ones you made that won it for us". If the griz make two FG'S today it totally changes everything in the fourth.

JJ did a fine job today. I don't blame the staff for looking deep because Jones and Hendo were getting open. Just couldn't hit all of the but tough conditions. I know some of the flagrant looking over or under throws looked bad but were actually JJ being smart and getting rid if it under duress.

Are you kidding me!!!! The kid throws for 388 and 4 TDs while running for his life all day, getting pressured all day, taking hit after hit, only having 1.2 seconds to throw.....all in zero degrees with wind and you guys are going to say he was off or wasn't good. Do you realize how many teams would give their left nut for a player and numbers like that. Man you are spoiled. Maybe the cold wether stunted your thought process on this one. Unbelievable!!!

He was a little off, but it may have something to do with the blitz coming from different places every down hurrying his throws, and the OC's love for the long ball again after the first two drives, he didn't have a lot of time to set up for those type of throws.

+1 jodcon and smarsh. OC should have learned this lesson from the Weber game. CC played defense the same way (same blitz packages) they did last week and JJ need a split second more for those pass attempts. Just need to take the 5 years with a quick slant, etc.

24-48 for 388 with 4 TDs and 1 INT. Thats a NCAA rating of 141.11. All in 0 degrees, wind, pressure all day, no protection, running for his life. Yea he missed a few receivers but to say he was not good or played poorly today....that's crazy talk. I will not take this kid for granted....he is the MVPvof the team. Look at the turn around this year with him at the helm.

Jordy played a tough game today, interception wasn't his fault, got hit while throwing. Sure he missed a couple of throws, but was running for his life. I thought our line might be able to handle them a little bit better.

These.

All I can say is "A HUGE Thanks" to Jordy for coming back to the Griz this year after being put through the ringer last year. That would have been incredibly tough for anybody to come back from.

Good luck in the future!

Get off JJ's backside. I think we can all agree. He is the main reason this team made the playoffs, despite coaching not doing him favors. Despite the crappy officiating, it is amazing the GRIZ were in position to tie that game up and actually should have, had it not been for a bad break. As to if they would have scored on that drive, we will never know? CC beat us. Without JJ, they would have blown us out!
