He was in Duniway as early as '78 egging on the "root out" craze, holding the tap in one hand while Blackwell Hawthorne, III chugged Texas Pride, and shaking out a bottle of Wesson in the other. Once it was over, those were the shiniest floors ever. I still think Jody got a raw deal on that expulsion.

Pure travesty!

I know. I could understand the concern for student health with all those cuts from the Saran Wrap boxes, but the piglet wasn't Jody's and it wasn't harmed. I've always suspected a GF mentor was working for the ASPCA in Missoula back then.

A pivotal time for the University, the culture and the man. Some say this incident was the first leftist push. I remember in '83 when he published that Super 8 film of himself, the donkey and that naked chick from Sweet Grass all filmed in the Dean's office. I've never personally witnessed a man drink that much rye and live to tell about it. Pol was and still is a devoted pork man.

Indeed.

Pol loved him some pork, that much is certain; pulled, fried, or otherwise. Those in the know will remember when he dug a hole in the front yard of the DG house and buried his hog to cook in the traditional, South Pacific way.

Do you suppose his signature tailgate dish was "Pol pork"?

Many believe so. Some scholars contend, however, that "Ol' Poltillithurts" enjoyed himself some smoked poultry at the 'gates. He apparently thought it would allow extra room for PBR tall boys. Not surprising. What might be surprising is the fact that he ate said poultry with a bun made of nothing but Pol Pork.

He wasn't a good handshake.

I have far more confidence in the department with Haslam at the helm than I ever did with O'Day there.

I believe Kent is the best AD Montana has had.
Strongly disagree. At this point he did a good job in his head coach hiring for BB HC, but the jury is still out on FB. As for Oday, at the time he was here, we had a huge $ surplus, which has changed dramatically under Haslam. Oday's coach hires were excellent, though Phlu didn't get a chance to fully develop what I felt was going to be an amazing program. Oday had excellent communication skills and could talk well with people from all levels, rich poor in between. I don't want to pounce on Haslam, but he is no Moos or Oday.

I don't have a dog in this fight. Never met John Hoyt or Cliff Edwards. Met Johnny Montana a few times. On the other side, I have met Denny and his wife a couple of times. Never met the kids.

But will say this: It seems like drama surrounding this program is never going to go away. It seems like there's ALWAYS something. At least there is no way to blame Stitt or Brady for this one, although I'm sure someone will try and connect the two somehow.

What a bullshit move. Sounds like something Kevin Washington would pull.

Ol
TNT Aka Mark and girlfriend compliance director Jean sharing inside information about the hoyt discussion they know literally nothing about. TNT chemistry prof Mark could not find his fanny with both hands even if he tried. Come mon man give it up.

Pol brought the best chicks to the parties in Duniway, always!

What an interesting discussion.... I LOVE the threats, innuendo etc. except for one small fact speaking of not being able to find one ass with both hands PR and Scooter. and the especially the danger of outing post from 75. Trouble is I know who Jean is, no clue who "mark" is although I certainly have heard the "stories" about her feeding him information that he in turn fed to the NCAA. Likely one of the more ridiculous sitiuations as if anyone thought he NCAA between the DOJ, Missoulian articles and general community outcry wouldn't have taken a look if for no other reason than to prove they were relevent.

Beyond that when looking at PRs Hoover vacuum, I have had some rather enjoyable discussions with him regarding family history. His in the Culbertson Area and min a bit further North in Sheridan County. Both of our families having made rather substantial financial commitments to the U. My families to the Business and Pharmacy School (my wife's to the athleytic department.) His elsewhere. In any event Sorry to disappoint.

BTW I didn't offer any theories about the naming dispute, only that of Oday was the one who made his concerns public, it was prolly best for Jim O'Day to just let himself fade away. His attempts to remain relevant sometimes have the effect of making him look pathetic.

Not near as pathetic as Scooter and 75 however.

I was referring BTW to the timliness of the "anonymous" donation and a very competitive QB battle going on at the time and the discussion about "buying a position" as I said it became interesting, but resolved pretty quickly with a great outcome for all.

I never understood how he did it. My only guess is that it was his first name. Kinda gave the girls a mental image, and all.
