I hate it but NDSU is going to win at least 3 more before anyone challenges them. It sucks but you have to deal with reality. Their freshman Payton award winning QB will be the first legit FCS Heisman candidate since Steve McNair, come on man you can hate them but be reasonable.

He's already won the Payton, he's already won an FCS championship, he's undefeated his first year. What else is there to accomplish at the FCS level? Practice for NFL. After suffering a loss at Oregon this Fall Mr. Lance will grow hungry for stiffer competition at the FBS level and while NDSU may win another title next year I won't be surprised to see the young QB phenom look at FBS transfer options to to try and get to the FBS college football playoff.

This!!

He might be playing for Oregon next year or any of the multitude of FBS schools looking to replace their senior QB.

I guarantee you he will not play all four years at NDSU!

Why would he go to an FBS team? There is far more risk in going there, not looking as good and dropping on the draft boards, vs staying at NDSU and doing your thing.

Plus, multiple coaches and GM’s have routinely praised NDSU’s system and stated how well it prepares QB’s. He has one of the best QB coaches in the country to work with.

Biggest difference today was team speed. JMU looked really slow on defense and couldn’t contain the best football player in the FCS.
Biggest difference in Autzen stadium is going to be team speed as well. Ducks will dominate the Bison in all facets of the game.

Congrats to NDSU. I see no reason for their FCS dominance not to continue for at least three more years. But 2011 is delusional to think they can play with Oregon. Oregon just signed two five star linebackers to go with several other 5 star recruits and a lot of 4 star recruits already on the roster. Yeah, Herbert is gone - so what? They'll come up with a good QB, no worries. And while a couple
NDSU players could make the Oregon roster, the sheer number of better players give Oregon a big advantage. How many four or five star recruits are on the Bison roster? If NDSUs best receiver is as good as Oregon's best, Oregon will have two more out on every pass play. If NDSUs best DB can cover one of Oregon's best WRs, the others will be exposed by the other Oregon WRs. And if Wisconsin had no advantage on the OL and DL, NDSU sure isn't going to. So, if they play their best, NDSU might cover a 14 point spread, but a bigger blowout is likely, and a win is, well, delusional.

BTW My theory on why 2011 is here so much is that he's looking for an audience where anyone gives a rat's ass about FCS football. For example, even the announcers for today's game spent every spare second and all of halftime talking FBS football. You know, real, big league college football. But I think we all like FCS football and don't have to go begging for validation like 2011 devotes his life to.

The halfback who takes the snaps in NDSU's wildcat offence is as good a runner as I've ever seen at this level.

I think it is delusional to think they can’t play with them. I never said I thought NDSU will win, but they will keep it respectful.

Who cares about star ratings. Carson Wentz was a 0 start QB in high school and was the #2 draft in the NFL draft.

JMU hadn’t defended the QB run all year and he did what it took to win the game.

Arguably the best season by a QB in FCS history. Lead the FCS in passer rating. 42 total TD’s and only one turnover, on a fumble, all year. 1st team All-American. Jerry Rice award winner. Walter Payton award winner. FCS STATS ADA Offensive Player of the Year award. 16-0 record as a starting QB. MVP of the national championship game.

Best football player in the FCS. Really all things considered, can’t recall an FCS QB ever having as good of a season as he just did.

Dynamite comeback, good luck in Sophomore English. You are old enough to know that Moosehead is not sold in Canada, right?

I actually agree with the Bizon fans on Lance. There is no way he will go FBS given the Bizon history of QBs that turn to glass against tough competition. As is tradition, he’s gotta pull the wool over and get paid beforehand.
Totally different person, and he's just a freshman. Big period of change for all young men and women. Who knows where this could go? Certainly not Mr. Lance ... or any of us.

On a related note: When is Wentz going to pack it in? https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...carson-wentz-heroic-for-reporting-concussion/

Absolutely nothing against the guy. In fact, I've been happy that another FCS pick at QB has been successful in the NFL. Hell, I'm a life-long 49er fan. I'd love to see Garoppolo (Eastern Illinois, drafted 2014) take SF to a Super Bowl win.

But Wentz just may not have an NFL body. Despite how they protect the QB, he's had way too many injuries. Another concussion? Ouch!

I've seen him in interviews, and he's pretty good. Maybe it's time to retire to the TV booth. (Hopefully, he's socked away enough of his big contracts to not worry about money.)

I’m with you on this one. Some guys have talent, but just can’t shake the injury bug. With Wentz, it’s been the ankle, the ribs, a knee, the back, and the head. Seems like a smart enough guy. I think he’d be better off in the booth.

For not caring about what Griz fans think, these Bizon fans sure care a lot about what Griz fans think...minutes after the Bizon win a NC.

It’s just so f***[*] classic. “You don’t know anything, but please agree that the Bizon are great. Please?!”

Who do you think wins it all next year?

I hope Oregon has a shot, but probably Clemson or some SEC team. I really hope the PAC 12 steps it up soon.

I didn’t specify.

Who do you think wins it in the FCS?

With any luck, it’ll come down to the Cat/Griz game, but we all know EWU won’t stay down for long. Weber will be tough again, and there’s always a chance for a dark horse with the unbalanced schedules. I’ll go with the Griz clinching it the week before Cat/Griz.

ndsu again. Not sure why people think Lance will move on, I don't. His dad has stated bigger is not better. NDSU is doing something right no doubt about it.

I meant the FCS national championship.

Here’s what I think. There are two levels of FCS football. NDSU, JMU, and then everyone else.
They have better athletes(especially in the trenches) and “offer” more. Problem is most are getting bored always watchIng a rerun of a prior year championship game.

Why are you even talking about Wentz? You need to get over your infatuation about hating him. He won championships, got drafted #2 and has moved on setting NFL records. It is irrelevant what he does anymore.

What you should do is focus the narrative on Trey Lance. He’s your new VA and new Wentz. Write the narrative on him and go with it bro.

Someone brought it up, and then there was the thing with McCown showing toughness. Idk, seemed topical because people were discussing Lance’s draft stock. Wents is a #2 draft pick making millions who hasn’t panned out as planned due to a lack of durability. It’s a pretty popular story on a national scale.

Conversely, do you have any infatuations with any Big Sky message boards?
