Everyone in Montana and Idaho and Wyoming and the Dakotas know. In other words our peers.

In Wyoming they barely know what FCS football is. They are all about the FBS.

And I know zero about Wyoming in the past 2 decades. And don’t care. Know nothing about their seasons or success. Except they had a great transfer qb who plays for the Bills. To me, Wyo. Is nowhere’s ville. Give me the fcs playoffs, particularly this year.

Allen wasn’t a transfer QB. His only FBS offer out of HS was Wyoming. MSU’s B/U QB WAS a transfer QB…but he doesn’t play for the Bills…

Allen played at Reedley College in 2014 and 2015.

Ah. Well I guess Wyo was his only offer out of JUCO (according to his Wiki he only played there in 2014…)

In today's world, Wyoming would never be asked to join the MWC. Absolutely nobody wants to travel to Laramie for anythting and they have the smallest TV market of any team in the country. They are hanging on by the skin of their teeth, much like UI was for most of their existence in FBS. It probably helps that Wyoming is the only school in that state and gets all the support from their legislature.

Montana and Idaho are also smaller states, but have much more in the way of state supported higher education. Even the Dakotas have more in the way of state supported schools.

When looking at a school's potential, I feel we need to use a 30,000 foot perspective. :thumb:

Well they’d be a much better fit in the Big Sky…then we could dump UNC to the curb and let them go back to D2. Would instantly make the Sky a much better conference.

Wyo was last relevant when Fennis Dembo and Eric Leckner were on the roster. And, that wasnt even for football.

I take our season with the playoff run every time. I get that other people feel different, and nobody is wrong. It is subjective. But I would never, ever trade a playoff run for a bowl. And this playoff run really doesn't mean any less to me because other schools have moved up

Sure, I take THIS season and it’s playoff run, but what about all the seasons in between this one and 2009?

I hadn't been around for a bit, didn't mean to blow you guys off. I know its all subjective, but I'd honestly take any year we make the playoffs over a bowl game. Because of that, I'd take the opportunity to make the playoffs over the chance to play in a bowl game.

I try to remind myself, though, that I was never really into I-A as a kid, and I never really got into the FBS even with their tiny playoff. I just hate the system, and have since I was a kid. It's probably just a reactionary response that is ingrained within me at this point.

But they were relevant in 1967.

Wishful thinking here… but a total restructure of college football would be wonderful. It would be an interesting system if we had an expanded playoff, and those teams who don’t qualify for the playoff but had a decent season could get rewarded with a bowl game.

I mistook some post breakfast gas for a JMU thought this morning. About as close as I've come to thinking about the Dukes.
