Well, if they're trying to play keep-away from him, they're either:
1. Trying to rugby kick it, low and hard to handle (leads to either long rolls that they can cover or down, or...long rolls that JLM picks up in a crowd that he scoots through, leaving no one home to track him down [I'd say he showed at UNI that being in a crowd is not an issue], or short kicks that JLM fields on the fly with a head of steam before the cover team can get down the field);
2. Kicking it out of bounds (with the lack of accuracy inherent in punting and the lack of great directional punters these days, this probably generally means shorter fields); or
3. Not kicking it at all, but going for it on riskier 4th downs.
All three are probably wins for the Griz.
Not to mention that this sets up tactical advantages for the Griz. They can either:
1. All out block, giving JLM a cleaner shot at an open catch with field to roam; or
2. Go for the blocked kick, at least causing the punter pause, and at best getting either a block or some punter miscue, knowing that JLM can still probably do something on his own with the punt even if he doesn't have perfect blocking.
Weapon.
Just have to get them into 4th down....
