JLM out for Sac St.

Missoulian, a couple of days ago:
Montana will be without dynamic slot receiver Jerry Louie-McGee for a second straight game when the Grizzlies take on Sacramento State this Saturday.

Louie-McGee, the team's leading receiver in both catches and yards, did not dress out in Montana's 67-7 victory against Mississippi Valley State on Saturday. Head football coach Bob Stitt confirmed the loss at the team's weekly press conference Monday.

"He got banged up at Cal Poly and he just kept playing. Finally we had to shut him down in practice," Stitt said Monday. "He didn't play Saturday and he's not gonna play this week. The plan is NAU."

Asked about his playmaker's absence after the MVSU game, Stitt said Louie-McGee was being held out in an attempt to rest him for later games in Big Sky Conference play and that "Jerry's one of those guys that when he gets banged up, he won't rest."

Hopefully they are right about him being ready against NAU. Shouldn't be too much of an issue without him this week.

I hope he's back for the game after NAU. Can't remember who we play then.

Let em heal up. The Griz are pretty deep at wide receiver but they will really miss him in the return games. I hope he comes back 100% not until then.

Problem is if he doesn't come back til EWU we won't see a full JLM. The first game I promise coach is going to ease him back in and won't use him as much as he deserves. No matter if he's 100% or 50%. I hope he's back at NAU then full vs EWU. We are gonna need him to try and keep pace with ewu

Really, who is surprised by this? A small guy taking that much pounding from bigger LBs and safeties only means it is a matter of time before something happens. Even when he returns it would be a huge mistake to lean on him so hard. Play action to him a lot (which will have to be respected) but only option to him sparingly.

Too bad Holden Ryan is a tiny dude too.......just keeps getting nicked up.......

Counts too. If that bean pole would just pack on some pounds he wouldn't get hurt so much.

You're a size is the only factor in injury-proneness guy...OK.

Homan seems to be a more than adequate fill-in. Get the little guy healthy. Hi

Without him have scored over 60 twice...i think even though inferrior opponents, has helped BG spread it around a bit. Will be good long term for both the offense and JLMs health!

Bingo!

Who starts in the two outside positions when JLM is back, between Homan, Curran, and Calhoun? I like Homan and Calhoun, though Curran has had some big plays.
