I was wondering if anyone saw or heard from JJ's family on game day. I really hope they had a great day. Those poor people went through hell and I can't think of a more gratifying experience for them than seeing their son/family member excel on the field and lead the Griz to a great victory. I sincerely hope they had a wonderful experience. They damn well deserve it!
No young man should ever have to go through what Jordan Johnson went through.
I did not know him. I do not know him now. I spent a considerable amount of time on his legal case, primarily because the impression I had, asking someone I respected in terms personal knowledge, Grizpony, who knew him and represented JJ to me in private conversations as a very positive young man.
From that, and a collection of other experiences, I knew that a wrong was being done.
To see that "wrong, righted" is one of the most satisfying experiences of my life.
To see this team unite, and Mick Delaney, a good man doing right now what Robin Pflugrad would have been doing, and how close this team is because of the adversity of the past year, permit me to shed a tear at how far a "team" can come, and what they can do and what it means to them.
This is movie quality stuff, except the movie couldn't make it work as well.
We are very lucky people. We get to be a part of something most of us perhaps just read about, in John Wooden days or Vince Lombardi days. And how this all stated with Don Read (change the name of Campus Drive) and Bill Moos and Jim O'Day, the best AD we have ever had.
How lucky are we all?
