A Lawyer friend of mine said that a defendant is NEVER put on the stand unless they feel that they are behind... Interesting...

JJ was having deep feelings for his "girlfriend", yet quickly pushed those feelings aside when he thought he was "guaranteed" some action... "Perhaps" he was not to be denied??

Interesting turn of events....

spokaneman is getting more desperate by the moment as he watches Paoli and Company kick ass and take names in this trial.

It must really be a sad, sad exisitince to have so much invested in the outcome of a trial, simply because you're rooting against a player of a rival so he doesn't put up 50 on your team next year. I'd feel a little sorry for him if wasn't a tool.
I think it's a good move by the defense. If I were falsely accused of rape , I'll be damned if I would sit there and not testify. I am not saying he was falsely accused of rape but testifying is a good thing in my book.

exactly correct...

wanted to put him on the stand today. not much time left and they wont be in court tomorrow. not much if any testimony left. JJ cross will be shorter. they will try to stay away from major subjects, they will just try to prove his charcter
Says who? They have just as much time to put on a case as the prosecution...DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?
They only have a few witnesses on list and they already called Johnson.....do you know what your talking about?
They have 5 character witnesses. Only two of whom have testified. So, as I am a product of the Missoula County school system I may be wrong, but that leaves at least 3 more.

How would it look to the jury, if it was promised that they would hear the truth from JJ, and then JJ never takes the stand.

Use what ever little brain juice you have left and f***[*] think for once...

Sorry stubby I already noted that I do not have a horse in this race. I just thought that you might be tired of circle jerking each other and value some casual outside observations. But back to your circle jerk!!

If I were in that position I would want to take the stand too, but I wouldn't hire a defense attorney who couldn't talk me out of that dumb idea.

That is.little testimony. They went through 2 in a afternoon. In a 3 week case..that means there is little testimony left. Plus they are damn near time cap. Johnson would be the last person called in most cases. If you had 1100 mins and now have 200. That means you have little remaining... Ya know, less than 20%

Also a casual observer might question the moral character that they are trying to establish by questioning why he was so quick to kick a girl that he had deep feelings for to the curb just for a one night stand.

That makes a person a jerk. But not a rapist. If they are "questioning" that action then they've clearly decided he didn't commit a criminal act.

Well, on TV they showed JJ saying that he was on the stand because he wanted to tell what really happened. So I assume that he is going to talk about the night in question.

Umkay. I guess if I was a defendant and the only people my attorney called was a forensic doctor, a nurse and 5 character witnesses and left any time on the clock my ass would be PISSED. BTW the attorneys were allotted 1440 minutes not 1100. According to Brint, who I am sure would admit to NOT being exact, the defense is at 835ish....that leaves A LOT OF TIME. Not saying your wrong mind you, but damn I would sure hope my attorney would leave nothing on the clock.

Johnson: "I just love to play. I love all sports." #johnsontrial He knew Robin Pflugrad in high school. They were family friends.

sorry I dont know how to post tweets properly, I'm not a twitter or tweeter or wtf it is

Pflu's son played high school football for Johnson's dad, the families knew each other that way too.

I admit that I improperly ascribed a desire to expose the victim to you. That's all on Special K.

Being able to admit you were wrong on Egriz should be considered a super power over here.

She should be exposed. JJ's name has been trampled on all over the state, as well as nationally, yet this wacko chick get impunity from being identified? I can not wait until JJ is acquitted and this tramp's name is then plastered all over the media, like she deserves. It is time for men to be counted, and to stop being victimized by unstable jock-chasers who want revenge because the dude never called back after his blue-veined trouser mouse was firmly implanted in her wanton love box.

State just rested. No case, period. Appears to be just the DOJ pushing this.

Yes, basically the prosecution’s whole case is derived from Doe’s psychological behavior after the alleged rape took place. There is no physical proof that a rape occurred. The testimony actually leans towards consensual sex in my opinion. Jane Doe's testimony was enough put doubt in my mind that she may not have let JJ know that she did not consent.

This is a he said/she said textbook case. No sane man or woman in this world could put a young, intelligent promising man away with what the Prosecution just presented.

The defense will not last long. This will be done by Friday.

I have been telling the world all along that JJ will never be convicted. This is the weakest rape case in history, and would have never gone to trial in any other jurisdiction except for the huge publicity surrounding it.

What this girl does not yet understand is that her life will never be the same again. She will have to leave the state, because this trial and her ridiculous accusations to cry rape will follow her for life.
I doubt she will leave the state after this since she managed to get into UM's Pharmacy school (roughly 15% of the total eligible applicants get accepted into the program) to pursue a doctorate in Pharmacy...trying to get into other Pharmacy schools could take many years to get admitted and there is still no guarantees of getting accepted.
