What would make you say heads will roll with an acquittal?

Very doubtful of a mistrial on that basis. Judge would give a standard admonishment to the jury to disregard. More likely Defense is hoping to build points of appeal of Judge's ruling for appeal just in case. To get a mistrial the actions would have to be so blatant that the judge felt there was no way of the jury not being tainted. Pretty rare stuff.

The County was damned if it did and damned if it didn't. The State brought the case. There's nothing anyone can do about it now. However, Paoli can fight like hell, get fat and angry in front of the jury, chest bump Duerk, over play his hand, and do everything he can to get JJ acquitted. The jury will decide whether or not JJ deserves that. I won't be cheering either way. I think this whole damn thing is a tragedy no matter what comes of it. Two things are clear, no matter what happens:

1) UM leadership is a complete and total failure.
2) The Missoulian is not worth the paper it is printed on.

So you are are saying the best plan that RE a highly inteligent idividual and PW and experience well connected politician could come up with is to hav enlisted the help of a 20 year old girl to accelerate the firings of an athletic director and football coach and diverte attention from an already ongoing NCAA investigation and previously published (from Jan. civil rights complaint to the DOJ) all for the purposes of dismantling a successful football program. Then they further put the whole thing in the hands of this girl to pull off a phony rape claim at trial. Did I miss anything??

I think a he said /she said bad night of sex explains it better. The outcome of this trila has no bearing on what happens at campus, but a whole bunch for these two kids.

I can't hardly stand reading all the responses from the state's witnesses about how distraught and upset this girl is/was. It just doesn't make sense to me. PTSD??? Seriously? The girl helped JJ do it! If she was so fear stricken and in shock, how does she manage to take his shirt off, grind on him, etc. It just doesn't add up to me! I honestly think this girl may be seriously off her rocker! I feel bad for her.

No sh*t. "I think I was raped so I'll go see a nurse". What the heck good is that going to do? It wasn't forceful or do a bunch of damage but she acts like it was a brutal attack or something. I know I'm not the brightest bulb in the box, but none of it makes sense. I guess that's exactly what the prosecution wants the jury to buy into though. She was so distraught over being raped that her actions were not what a normal person thinks they should be. In that respect, the prosecution is doing a pretty good job.

First, let me say, I have no idea what happened that night and am not going to try to take sides. With that said, someone "stricken and in shock" would most likely not go directly to the police.
