JJ still enrolled

Good news but I thing we are in this mess (maybe not the JJ part) for the rest of the summer at least. We also get to revisit it for both the AD and coaching hire! Hopefully by this time next year we can get back to move up threads and bashing the UMPres., AD and coaches for something that has nothing to do with criminal activity.

Hey now. There was a fresh move-up thread posted just this morning and it died on the vine.

GOOD! to me it PROVES this young man did nothing wrong, except having a one nighter with a girl who wanted more. then she was told "sorry honey this was a one nighter",and she came up with this story because she knows nothing will happen to her! "she protected", so only JJ name can be printed and GF can claim rape for her. :( :( :(

Were you hiding in their closet? :?

i don't give a f#$k what you believe :thumb: :o . this is what i could find out and it's as good as any thing GF has written! this is nothing more than a one night stand period

un Frickin beleievable. Glad i'm not one of those dumbasses that started that. I'd be kicking my own ass. Feel sorry for JJ this is just getting ridicoulus.

University of Montana Grizzlies quarterback Jordan Johnson remains enrolled as a UM student and is still on the roster of the football team, Associate Commissioner of Higher Education Kevin McRae said Tuesday.

McRae’s statement was released on behalf of UM President Royce Engstrom, and said:

“Jordan Johnson is enrolled as a student at the University of Montana. He completed spring semester. He is not enrolled for summer session or taking summer courses, but he is pre-enrolled for fall semester. He is on the UM football roster, which means he is academically eligible and in ‘good standing’ as an enrolled student (a student athlete must be in good standing with the university to be on an athletic roster).”

Reports swirled over the long holiday weekend that Johnson allegedly had been expelled from school. A woman accused Johnson in March of sexually assaulting her in February, but he has not been charged with a crime.

Johnson and the woman now have a civil no-contact agreement.

The University of Montana is being investigated by the U.S. Departments of Justice and Education for how it handles rape cases.

Under Montana law, student records are confidential. But the statement released Tuesday, said UM was able to release Johnson’s enrollment status “because students have the opportunity when they enroll to request confidentiality on the release of that fact or on the release of any directory information.”

The fact that no such confidentiality had been requested in this case let UM make Johnson’s status public.

Like sands through the hour glass .... so are the days of Egriz's lives. I really do feel for you guys as this is getting ridiculous.

That article and statement from the University shed no light on the situation except that a final decision is not official.

Seems to me if Engstrom was about to or already has made a decision to kick this young man out of the University of Montana he would have waited a couple days then announced his decision instead of making this statement today.

The tone of his comments are not one of we are awaiting a final decision on anything, rather just states JJ is pre-enrolled for autumn semester and in good standing.

Glad this expulsion rumor is bullshit, it renews my faith in humanity and some of my fellow americans.

Jesus, that's funny.

The path of least resistance for Royce is to uphold the decision of the “committee”, which is exactly what he will do. This would be a public relations shit-show for him to do otherwise at this point.

Don’t hold your breath fellas………..

I agree. You can imagine the pressure that is coming from both sides of this situation. I would hope that a more definitive press release would be forthcoming by Engstrom. Does this mean that he has just kicked the can further down the road so he can see how it all plays out? Don't you think the team and the coaches would rather know now and with more certaintly what the status of the #1 QB is?

Why even bother making a statement that JJ is in school today then announce you have expelled him without cause tommorow?

It doesnt really make sense. If Engstrom is about to expel Johnson then why not wait a day or two until he announces the expulsion instead of releasing this statement saying JJ is in school, in good standing and enrolled for fall?

i think he's getting his ducks in a row. i smell a lawsuit coming from either side depending on his decision. this is gonna get ugly.

+1

I hate to agree here with Tokyo but I think he is right. Why would RE put out a statement like that if he was about to rubber stamp a so called U of M committee decision? It doesn’t make sense for him to make an announcement like that and then turn around and expel him. I am questioning whether or not a committee actually decided this in the first place or if that was all BS. I think JJ is in the clear as far as enrollment at the U and his spot on the roster.

Perhaps the saddest statement of our society: The Griz QB still being on the team is considered "breaking news" at the Missoulian.

They also post the day's weather forecast as "breaking news" every morning. Doesn't take much to get the Missoulian staff excited.

Because this situation has no many "gray" areas. Such as; did a crime occure? I doubt the panel had all of the information from both sides made available to them. If a crime occured was it prosecutable? Can the accused speak out in his defense before the country attorney makes a decision on filing charges. If he is expeled by the university but criminal charges are not filed will that affect the university? If the university upholds the expulsion without a criminal case and the accused had no opportunity to present his side to the panel does that put the university at risk of civil action? IF not civil action....does it affect the university in terms of donations and recruiting? There are no easy answers to the questions and it is very much a "catch 22" for the university at this point in my opinion.

I am fairly sure the bolded is pure speculation on your part.
