JJ decision

Regarding Donaldson. I met a young man in Missoula this week who is a close friend of Donaldson. He said that Donaldson had known the girl he purportedly raped for many years, and they were friends. There was a significant amount of alcohol involved by both parties. This incident was alcohol-induced, and was not a calculated "will-ful" rape. We all know what can happen when alcohol clouds the senses. This kid does not know why the girl decided to go to the police with this. But she did, thus the rape charge. It is ashamed that Donaldson's life may be forever changed by this.

ahhhh, i get it now. thanks. you're right, we all know what happens when alcohol clouds the senses. we also know that close friends of the accused would never sugarcoat what happened.

Whatever.

Alcohol is never an excuse for committing a crime. The girl turned Donaldson in because he raped her, and she probably felt he wasn't much of a friend if he would do that. He gets what he deserves, and this is just one of the very few cases of acquaintance rape that can actually be charged, since there is better evidence than he-said / she-said. I say good for her for taking a stand.

I'm trying to think speaking of statistically insignificant data bytes how many of the two thousand six hundred eighteen or so accredited four-year colleges and universities in the US have ongoing investigations of their programs concurrently by the Department of Justice, Department of Education, and NCAA. And then how many of those that the investigations were extended into the communities in which those schools exist.

They don't need to railroad anybody. Finding JJ guilty or innocent will have no effect.
They will find incompetance in UM admin. Botch several cases, then railroad a very visible one in an attempt to even the score, a strategy you support. They will find bias and total disregard for due process for the accussed. If they didn't need to unleash Coture to fix the "Honor" Court, then why did they?

I agree that it is a shame that this will probably have a profound affect on Donaldson's life but people have to know that actions have consequences and sometimes they are not very pleasant. As long as BD gets a fair trial then whatever the outcome, so be it.

tnt, hmmm must stand for tnt like in "thought nothing through" ala Florio.

Eyes glazed over as she posts vile precoital blather.

A champion of the down trodden, indeed.

Yeah right. She ruins a good kid's life because she can, while she probably has given it away many times. Sorry dudes, I don't buy the fact that he raped her. Rape has too broad a connotation.

Except for this gem from PR: "It is my feeling that Beau didn't do this."

Of course, that's not what I said. "I know nothing about the facts, but I know Donaldson and I have doubts that rape occurred or that this will stick." We will see how it turns out.
admit it. you might care about whether he did it or not, but mostly you just want him to be found not guilty.

   - GG just summed up PR's life mission in one small, smart post.

Yup, I like Beau Donaldson. I hope he gets through this okay. I support and am loyal to friends and people I like. I realize the concept of supporting and being loyal to friends and people you like is a foreign to some of you. As another poster once said, anonymous posting on the internet causes people to grow balls they didn't otherwise have. That certainly describes the two of you.
