The comment would have made sense when one poster, with more strong opinions than one person can usually handle, decided to tar JJ with the accusation that he was an "alcohol-fueled sexual predator."HighLineGRIZ said:Ursa Major said:Why don't we just wait and how things turn out without running either of these two kids through the mud anymore?

Why doesn't the media stop covering this story?
Why don't people stop talking about this matter in the downtown bars?
Why do the courts and media publish the names of the accused, but not the accusers?
Why does freedom of speech and the press exist?
Why can't the internet be restricted to looking up things? Why are chat rooms and message boards allowed to exist?
Why can't I think of anymore dumb questions?

People are judgemental by nature. Naturally, we take sides in conflicts and establish opinions on things we aren't experts on or don't understand (i.e. politics, religion, football, etc...) and I agree that you shouldn't have to be an expert or all knowing to be able to express a thought or opinion on something.
The saddest part of this case is the lasting damage this is going to have on JJ's and the accuser's lives. If JJ is found innocent there is always going to be that group of people that are going to think of him as he had done it. If he's found guilty, there will always be a group of people that will loathe the accuser and blame her for what happened.
We've already established the media's failure and negligence in covering this event, but that's something the Florio's of this world have stamped their name on with their reputation on the line. At bars, church, barber shop, etc.. what you say follows you and you're responsible for your opinions and how your peers view you as a person. On message boards, people have the convenience of being able to say whatever they want, make up whatever they want, and personally attack anybody as maliciously as they want under the protection of an anonymous user name. To repeatedly attack somebody anonymously with the protection of your own reputation is chickenshit in my opinion, whether its your "right" to do so or not.

But, that expression, which was not only the strongest of such expressions, but one invented whole-cloth from nothing, didn't bother either of you.
After having let that outright and outrageous libel lay there and rot these threads, instead of being ashamed of yourselves suddenly you two have consciences about these ... "two kids"?
A little late and not enough.
Honest people have been attempting to discuss published evidence and how that plays out in our justice system.HighLineGRIZ said:To repeatedly attack somebody anonymously with the protection of your own reputation is chickenshit in my opinion, whether its your "right" to do so or not.

A few of you, who defend the rights of some posters to outright libel "one of these young people" with nothing to support the claim in the published record, offer your sanctimonious crap in the precisely the form of "repeatedly attacking other posters personally and anonymously with the protection of your own reputation is chickenshit" in my opinion as well.
In particular when its "OK" if it is against JJ, particularly outrageous, and not only without a shred of evidence in the published record, but contrary to the testimonials of those that know him personally.
You weren't too interested in attacking that poster. You weren't very interested in shutting down the conversation at that point. You were one inarticulate uncomprehending jackwagon when that piece of crap was published here, about one "of those young people" you now thinly pretend to care so much about.
But, when the weight of the evidence is against your chosen narrative, and after you have enabled and condoned by your silence the single most malicious and baseless accusation on any of these threads, your suddenly discovered sanctimonious hypocrisy is best described by you, interestingly, as you put it in yet another of your ongoing personal attacks on other posters: chickenshit.
Really? An "alcohol-fueled sexual predator" was OK? You had no voice then? You could find no bias? Attempting to review the weight of published evidence on a motion to dismiss isn't OK? That's chickenshit?
Gosh, disgusting irony and overt hypocrisy, all in one post directed, as usual, at the posters and not the topic. That's chickenshit.

Well, if i had read that I would have reacted. We've got a shit-ton of pages of threads on this topic and I don't have the time to read through each paragraphs of yours and TNT's drivel, nor care to. Not sure who posted that comment, but that is chickenshit for them to post that. The theads though, have been dominated by your bias assessment of the case and of the accuser. Naturally, skimming through these threads, I'm going to read more into your assessment than others. You've made it more prevalent.
UMGriz75 said:It is interesting how often a post reviewing affidavit statements is followed by one from you which manages, essentially, to say "oh yeah?" on a personal level, which is about as complicated as you have managed to get.argh! said:UMGriz75 said:Don't underestimate yourself. oooh! um75 the scintillating comeback machine! on the bright side, at least this the subject matter 'discussed' in this thread has finally gotten around to the subject you wish us to pay attention to... you.
ok, now search that magnificent brain of yours for a zinger with which to get me!
And you do generally focus on the poster rather than the topic. It is interesting how virtually all of your posts attempt to personalize the discussion. It's almost like you are a troll or something similar. I gathered that was the best you could do as it required less work than utilizing abstract thought to contrast and compare evidence and theory.
There. Now you have a post that managed what you wished; to drag the discussion away from an evidentiary comparison that you didn't like but couldn't swim with, and to make it all personal between posters. I guess it took an equally magnificent brain to derail a thread about evidence and a personal tragedy involving two young people caught in a very public and devastating situation and making it, instead, about "magnificent brains."
Congratulations.
argh! said:no, but using bias to invent "facts" is. i looked it up.

Point out the things you think he invented? I guarantee you won't find any. Now point out the things you and TNT invented. That would fill a whole thread.

Is it patting yourself on the back when you are supporting a pretend friend that is actually yourself? Why don't you just go third-person, it would make more sense:PlayerRep said:While 75 may spin some things in the direction of the accused, I don't find him to be biased. Why not just go back and use your other screen name. Or one of your other screen names?
I'm not sure I've read a more ironic post on this board.
