I guess I've never really thought about how I would do it. :puppy:

I wonder if human behaviorists will someday study this thread to try to obtain some insights into the human condition. Or something.

Or are they doing it now?

Edit: Actually the short answer is know because behaviorist don't care about cognition, only behavior.

My lawyer friend stated the following "it's like trying to have sex with an angry woman" while we were floating the river fly fishing. Commenting on a difficult mess after he hit a log jamb an up-ended his raft and drifted under the nasty log jamb in the cold waters of Alaska.

"Not tonight and if I truly do not want to be screwed U will play hell doing it to me." Hmmm?

I really can't believe I have to point this out. If the girl is known to have sex with UM's star athletes then JJ would be another notch on her bedpost rather than going to court. Frankly, this point of view makes JJ look worse, not better.

I do agree to an extent. It is weird that a girl who supposedly sleeps around would all of a sudden say somebody raped her. Maybe she thought she could win the star QB over and when he hit it and quit it she got pissed. Looking at it from another point of view. Why would JJ, the star QB, a guy that has plenty of girls and guys saying he is a great guy, who has no problem getting action when he wants it, force himself onto a girl. Maybe he was drunk and horny and thought she was an easy lay. And when she said NO he didn't believe her because he heard the stories, or experienced her being all about it earlier.

This is going to be an interesting case for the jury, if it even goes to a jury. If it does go to court I have a feeling JJ went testify. As somebody mentioned earlier, JJ is gone and will never be the QB at the University of Montana again.

If true, it would seem the "hit it and quit it defense" went out the window with her immediate email to her roomate and the next day's medical examination. I remain open minded because I haven't heard both sides arguments. But the jilted lover argument doesn't seem to make much sense given what we have read.

All of us have been in situations where someone misinterprets what we mean, or we misinterpret what they mean. This may be a situation where the victim is being completely truthful, in her mind, that she said and meant no, and JJ, in his mind, is being completely truthful claiming it was consensual. Somebody does not need to be lying. This may come down to requiring a finding by a jury of whether a reasonable person in JJ's situation would have interpreted her words and actions the same way he did. In other words, JJ may be found guilty even though he truthfully believes he did not rape her, or he may be found not guilty even though the victim was completely truthful in claiming he did.

I'm sorry, br fan, but that is not nearly black & white enough for eGriz. Ambiguity is not our specialty.

Yeah, the difference between stimulus and perception is really difficult. :?

In all probability the girl will be destroyed in court. In the documents she claims she said, "not tonight", which does imply an ongoing sexual relationship. So what really does "not tonight" mean and think about where a defense attorney can go with that.
Well that depends on what your definition of "is" is.

I don't understand some of you Griz fans... is it so hard to wrap your head around that you might have recruited a bad apple? I do understand that there is a small statistic of falsely charged rape cases. But, wouldn't you think the State of Montana is very confident about a conviction, especially being so late and being such a high profile case (in terms of media.) If the accusations were wrong, this would ruin JJ's name and reputation, leading me to believe, it could potentially result in a lawsuit. I'm sure there is evidence of that text message that was sent that night as well as interviews with the roommate (who was there) as well as the friends she told. I think people need to start thinking that he is guilty until proven innocent based on that affidavit. This is a case about two human beings (set football aside) and look at the facts... If he raped her don't stick up for him just because he is talented enough to play QB for the Griz.

As for Bobcat fans who are rejoicing because of this please consider, this could happen to any program. It is a shame and embarassing that it had to involve a Montana school. Similar to Penn State, scandals and cases like these do nothing but ruin the game by creating unorthodox advantages.

Question?

How old is JJ? Was he 21 when this occurred?
I believe its been stated by others that he isn't legal to consume alcohol.

Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2

So JJ's underage drinking may or may not have an affect on the voting of the honor code committee? Excuse me if I am posting to the wrong spot, I showed up late to this mess.

1. FWIW, I don't believe JJ is a bad apple, even if he is found guilty. He made a terrible mistake, one which will have lasting consequences for both he and the girl. But all other evidence would suggest that JJ is a good kid and a good student.

2. That said, I also don't like to see Griz fans trying to condone the alleged acts.

3. Unfortunately, these things DO happen at any and every program, including msu's. If you believe there aren't cases of unreported sexual assault by student athletes at your university, your head is in the sand. And yes, that is terrible sad.

I do not care who the accused, or the accuser is, or what the charges are, in America it is supposed to be, "Innocent until proven guilty." If you do not like that, please go to another country. Myself, and I am sure other veterans, thought for this, and other lost their lives fighting for this country. We did not sacrifice for that kind of outlook. Sorry, but I am so against your mentality with our legal system.

I can't believe the detail given in the affidavit, mostly the potential witness list. Why does that need to be public record? Not only could that give some people the ability to put two and two together to figure out the identities of those involved, it also puts the witnesses in a tough spot of people probably prodding them about the matter

I thought the same thing about the witness's. Not very smart IMO.
