- If it were a felony there's no "chance" a player is removed from the team, the SACC states they're gone
- I don't believe the head coach sits on the SACC board, so Bobby wasn't part of the decision.
- The SACC I don't think has flexible room for scope of punishment, if I remember it correctly the scope of the offense is tied to a specific punishment.
But the Missoulian says no charges have been filed yet, so how can there be any punishment via the Code of Conduct then? That’s why I was saying that Bobby or the athletic dept must be going above and beyond with this one.
My guess is that, not even misdemeanor. It would seem that Calhoun would not be on the team is felony charges were expected or even possible. It would seem that misdemeanor charges would have been filed by now. I was told that this incident came after he was given the N word. That happens too often in Missoula. My guess is that this is just a Bobby suspension, not a Code violation. I have no inside info on this one, other than I heard that the N word was involved, and that there athletics from multiple sports at the scene.no charges will be filed
Maybe Calhoun came back undersized, but, having seen him warming up and stretching, practicing, and having stood next to him at a scrimmage, I think he looks big and muscular. He's listed at 210 in the recent program. He was listed at 213 last season. I hope he is shot out of a cannon when he returns to the field.
I like the Calhouns and their dad, even though I don't know the players personally.
From the Missoulian: The victim's mother does expect charges to be filed against Calhoun, following her contact with the Missoula County Attorney's Office.
Just sayin. Hope justice is served and we can move on.
Isn't that old news, like very old news? Edit: I see that the mom must have said this more recently. My mistake. Also, a mom who goes complaining to the Missoulian and the legal authorities is probably a bit biased and not someone I'd rely on to know what the legal authorities are going to do.
Also, the Missoulian said the county attorney's office would take several weeks to review the referral, and its now been a couple months (since May). Edit: Don't know what then hold up has been; seems odd. Now see the reference to a complaint probably to be filed. If the N word was used, I wonder if the prosecutor could get a conviction.
MTGRZ, I see that your post or posts was right on this. My bad.
