Jeff Withey

Well-known member
Jeff Withey is leaving the University of Arizona. Jeff is a 4 star Freshman center that was ranked as the 8th best incoming Freshman at that position.

Of course GU is interested in getting him in a Zags uniform!! Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Lute is now out
and it made Jeff pout,
He will now leave the U of A
and go a different way,
Where he will go is completely up to him
the chances he ends up at GU are very slim,
He's a California boy that likes the sun
maybe he goes to Cal to have some fun?
Maybe this is just some wishful thinking
and many of you will ask, what are you drinking?
But I really do hope, and I am sincere,
he will come to Cal to begin his college career.
The only problem with the dreams of this Bowlesmen
is I'm pretty sure he must go to a team out of the PAC-10. :(
This poem does rhyme and is very cute
just look at all the drama that has been caused by Lute.

Funny, yeah I don't think he can go to a school in the same conference, could be wrong, but I think that is what i read. GU has a great backcourt already and this would make their frontcourt great as well and deep with Heytvelt, Poling, Sacre (when he returns) and Foster. Hope it works out for the Zags!

Are you kidding me?? How can this be? Livengood is a d!ck.

If I was this Withey kid I would make sure I transfer to a Pac-10 school next year so I could play Arizona twice a year.

For sure. I can't believe they won't let him go. Obviously he went there to play under Lute so he should have the option to leave.

I agree. If you commit to a school you should honor that for at least a year unless there are circumstances surrounding it. Such as a Hall of Fame coach resigning. They force kids to play at least 1 year of college ball. Now this kid is forced to be somewhere he doesn't want to be. Not cool.

Totally agree, also, why would UA want someone on their team that they had to force to stay? Doesn't seem logical to me, but what do I know?

Doesn't the Pac-10 have a conference rule that you cannot transfer within the conference without sitting out completely for a year (or 2?)?

Yes I think it is a year. If they would let him go now he would have to choose a school outside of a Pac-10. So since Arizona is making him sit out a year he should be able to go to any school he chooses. I would choose a Pac-10 just to spite Arizona.
