Jake Retzlaff withdraws from BYU - future Griz?

"Quarterback Jake Retzlaff is taking an unusual route after deciding to withdraw from BYU to avoid a seven-game suspension tied to a violation of the university's honor code, CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz reports. Instead of entering the traditional NCAA transfer portal, Retzlaff simply plans to enroll elsewhere, join a new team and bypass typical transfer restrictions."

With Micah Harper here from BYU and Jake Retzlaff appreciating support from Harper, any chance the Griz could go after him and have a legitimate shot to land him?

I reda ND, Alabama and Maryland may be interested. So I doubt he will be a Griz.

I would agree with others that with the schools reaching out to him (ahem, I mean "his representatives"), it's likely we aren't on his list. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the Griz recruiters are sending out some back channel feelers to "his representatives".

He’s not enrolled anywhere. There’s no need for “back channel feelers”.

Well hell, how did I read that wrong… I had 18 years of… um… ya… well let’s just say I don’t have any Mormon friends… 😏

He didn't do anything illegal, at least per the United States and State of Utah penal code. Once Mormon Law is enshrined in our penal code, then pre-marital sex will be illegal.
He was originally charged with a sexual crime, but the young lady was talked out of pressing charges. He was then hit with a 7 game suspension for the honor code violation. I don't know if he decided to leave or was told he would not be welcomed back to the team. At any rate, if you want him, go for it. I'm sure that many schools will back off on him.

All of you on here who are aware of what Jordan Johnson went through know that while Jameis Winston's case was changing details by the minute (starting with it never happened), Jordan's never wavered from day one, but he still had to go to court in the end. Winston continued bad acting, stealing crab legs from a Publix grocery (he forgot to pay), jumping on tables and yelling inappropriate obscenities in a cafeteria (%*ck her right in the ^*$$y), to name a couple.
This case involves a Jewish kid that BYU was bragging about their willingness to accept such a situation (this from the people who brought you the revelation that the black race was born out of a curse when Cain killed Able), and it was a great thing for Provo at that time. At that point, he was their hero, leading them to the promised land like a modern-day Moses.
The one thing that bothers me though is he gave the girl money in a civil suit and made the alleged victim go away so if the DA or whoever was going to prosecute, now they have no victim and thus no case. Jordan could have do this too if he had the money, but he didn't walk away from the fight and was acquitted in a court of law.
I don't know if Retzlaff did anything or not, and I am under no mind to believe he would want to come to Missoula. No one here can say he did or did not do anything illegal, you weren't there but based on the results we have of his case, I wouldn't want him on our team.
