Jake Heaps To Transfer (again)

I'm a bit confused.

2010 BYU
2011 BYU
2012 RS at Kansas
2013 Kansas

So four of his five years have expired; he has one left. So he can't go to an FBS school, because he does not have another year to sit out. He doesn't have to sit out to go to an FCS school, but didn't they pass a rule just a few years ago that a player could not step down like this unless there was at least two years of eligibility remaining? Unless he has graduated and enrolls in a graduate course not available at his current school. What am I missing?

Does the law of having 1 year left still apply to FBS schools BYU has 3 players who will be seniors transfering in Jordan Leslie from UTEP, Harvey Jackson from Nebraska, and a reciever from Stanford who will all be Seniors this season and are eligible to play.

Thats what I was thinking. I wonder if MSU is gonna go after him?

Why would MSU go after him for one remaining year of eligibility, when, as many Cat fans have assured us, they have multiple all-world qb's already on the roster?

Yep, some simpleton named "cat bracket" posted they have 4 qb's who could start in the BSC... :roll: ... :egriz:

A FBS player who graduates with a 4th year of eligibility can transfer anywhere, including to another FBS school, so long as he enrolls in a graduate major not available at his current school. Think Russell Wilson. I suppose intra-conference transfer rules could still come into play.

I would guess he hasn't yet because the school year is not complete. But I would assume that if he is considering FBS schools, that he is on pace to graduate.

To transfer to either FBS or FCS with only one remaining year of eligibility, he needs to have graduated.
