Jacksonville University to discontinue football

Jacksonville University announced today that it would discontinue its football program, citing "major changes to its Division I Athletics program". A Pioneer League member, Jacksonville has gone 92-87 with two conference titles since the program's inception in 1998.

On a positive note, they will continue to honor all contracts of their staff and will offer full scholarships to all football players who choose to stay at the University (despite being a non-scholarship program).
