Jacksonville St. Recruit Killed at Sister's Party in Ala.

Yeah no, people's rights don't end where others fear begins. I am sorry this happened, but attacking law abiding citizens isn't the answer. Mental health, school security and getting rid of gun free zones would be a good start (90% of mass shootings take place in gun free zones, aka a soft target).

We give this a lot of lip service, but none of things happen, even in red states. It's just talk...

And despite all of this, today 140,000,000 Americans owning 400,000,000 guns shot and/or killed no one today!

Great quote, heightsgriz. :thumb:

Europe has been mentioned in this discussion. They got gun control up the ass. Look how many countries comprise Europe. Do any of you realize how many wars have been fought in Europe? One going on now. How many bodies have been 'disposed of' as a result this European sh*t. This country has enough laws on the books. Its not about guns. Its about control. By the way, I AM NOT A GUN FREE ZONE. I pack EVERYWHERE.

Do they allow firearms in courtrooms in Missoula yet? If the answer is still no, do they provide lockers for those that carry?

Tennessee literally Passed a law after the shooting that took place there to increase school security and put a ton of funding towards it. The only people who voted against it were the 3 democrats who started that riot.

Is there a source for this information or just a random thought for the day. Random thoughts are ok but if you have something a little more, shall we say scientific, I would be interested in reading it. If it is true that we have more bad and deranged people in the US wouldn't it make sense to possibly have a few more common sense controls on access so innocent kids don't get blown away for ringing doorbells or pulling into the wrong driveway or get shot at a birthday party? Seems like thoughts and prayers may not work in so well in such a deranged country.

Yes, there are multiple sources. Feel free to look them up. Or, provide your sources to the contrary. Thoughts and prayers work just like banning guns would work, maybe better.

I dunno I think Russia has a lot of crazy insane people. I think if you handed out assault rifles over there you would have some issues..

How is this being implemented? I mean, Exactly? And that's one state. Anecdotal at best...and how is that addressing the mental aspect?

"...and how is that addressing the mental aspect?"

The most direct, effective, guaranteed mental health cure. Clown shows up at a school, with a gun, he gets shot in the head. Problem solved. 100% guarantee the shooter won't do that again. No pardon, commutation, or parole. Just dead.

Roll your eyes all you want. The method is proven to work. Israel has had a problem with Palestinians since 1948. Israeli's go around armed. Someone gets shot at, there is return fire. Years ago, in LA I think, some f*cked-up anti-semite shot up a Jewish pre-school, killing a bunch of kids. They then had armed staff. No 'self respecting' Nazi was willing to try that again. Then again, the lesson was generally learned well when another Jew hater walked into a Synagogue and opened fire. As I recall, it was the last thing he did. Armed congregation members took him out. Soft targets are the problem. Gun-free zones are the problem. That trans-POS that shot up the Tennessee school was going to try another target, but it thought the security was too tight, so it hit the school. Its suicide note or manifesto supposedly say so. The manifesto still hasn't been released. Doesn't fit into the Progressives agenda? Shows they are FOS when it comes to guns?

Hopefully before he reproduces.

Is this anecdotal? Looks like they’re addressing it head on, beginning w mental health.

Exactly. That’s the key.

26 years ago there was a Bank robbery in LA. Dudes had body armor and were heavily armed. One cop finally realized they had body armor on, and plinked one in the head, where there was no body armor. Dropped him like a rock. :thumb:

One state out of 50 is anecdotal. Also, it's pretty clear that there's a significant portion of the population that doesn't give a flying f about mental health.

Ok, we’ll I don’t think that word means what you think it means if this is your thought.

anecdotal
ăn″ĭk-dōt′l
adjective
Of, characterized by, or full of anecdotes.
Based on casual observations or indications rather than rigorous or scientific analysis.
Pertaining to, or abounding with, anecdotes

How about this: both of my daughters have attended Sentinel High School. Both had mental health screenings. Also, there has been an armed MPD officer on duty at the school throughout. I receive regular emails from much of the MCSD brass, as well as school officials with topics ranging from school security to psychological issues the kids are facing, and what help is available.

You may continue with your narrative, but from where I sit it does not square up with the facts.

Your narrative suggests the mental aspect is delt with significantly. Hmmm, ok...how's that working out?
I do like there are cops at the schools, that is some comfort.
But do you seriously think it couldn't happen in Missoula?
I know several of the school counselors in Missoula and Lake counties. It's not the utopia you seem to think it is.

And were it, we couldn't blame these incidents on crazy people then what?
It's just weird that these events are happening so much now that they don't make much of a blip on the supposed news.
Whatever we're doing or not doing isn't changing the outcome.

Btw, thanks for sharing the anecdote about your kids. 😉

GrizMania, you sound young and inexperienced. There used to be Mental Hospitals, but our government, our wise GD government, shut them down in favor of outpatient treatment. "One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest" was based on the treatment at the time, Inpatient. There are a few places like Warm Springs left, but few. Treatment nowadays is like 30-90 days, send 'em out with their meds and followup care with someone. Problem is they feel good and in control, they stop taking their med because they are doing so good, and BOOM!, right back in the 'Hatch.'

well, until they start treating the cause and not the symptom, I think I'll just keep my guns. :thumb: :thumb:
