Jacks not happy

You can try to spin what he said however you would like...but honestly, everything he said was true...the Griz got a home game based on money.....I don't see whining and arrogance.....

They are. They are complaining that they don't get a first round home game because they were out bid. If they had taken care of business against Western Illinois, then it wouldn't matter. Every team from the MV struts around like they are Gods gift to football. They lost to a team that shouldn't even be in the playoff field and then complain. That's some entitled bs.

Of course this is my read on what is going on. Take care of your business and you can control the outcome. Otherwise, you take what you get.

I don't thinking they are complaining about being outbid...just stating a fact....It seems they are more pissed that they played like shit and cost themselves a seed and everything that goes with it..... Also, SDSU would have hosted any home game in Sioux Falls since their stadium was unavailable due to demolition.

Did some checking, new stadium to be completed by September 2016, seating 19,340, state of the art of course. Configured like Bobscat Stadium. So, next year they may get the bid for playoff home field. To be called Dana J. Dykehouse Stadium. Impressive.

Does that mean extra exits so their fans can hightail it midway through the third or is that only a need for the kittens?

That's Kitten specific. They have even copyrighted/patented the 3rd quarter exit concept and technology.

jacks ain't happy? --NEITHER AM I.

They were up MORE THAN 28 over Dave D and the Griz in 1993... you could look it up.

The jacks were up 31-7 at halftime and made it 38-7 in the 3rd ... when the Little General famously told his troops, "If you don't think we can still win this game, get your ass off the field!"

down 38-7, they went down and scored, starting their comeback that became an ncaa D-IA record for the biggest comeback ever, to that time.

Key plays later would include Shalon Baker's punt return for a touchdown and Todd Ericson's return of a Jack fumble for a TD.

the winner ... with less than 40 seconds left ... was DD's nearly 40-yard pss play up the west sideline to Scott Gurnsey who ran into the nirth end zone..

The committee has a number in their heads when determining home field in the first round, the Griz bid was on and the Jacks off.

Take that as you will.

Is it just based off attendance capacity since they get all of the revenue from ticket sales?

the ncaa minimum bid for first-round is $30,000.

With $35 tix, UM exceeds that with 1,000 tix. they take about all the money anyway. we could bid $500k and be ok.

So you're saying that the Jacks built a new stadium, seats more than the Fargodome, and is outdoors? That's gotta sting..

Taking it the only way I know how, it seems like the Jacks might have a mess on their hands.

I thought that article was straight down the middle of the fairway. I did not detect any significant bias, inasmuch as he was writing about the home team. The last line in the article was a respectful acknowledgement of their upcoming opponent. Look at our record in the NC game if you do not think UM has been helped by a stadium and attendance.

I would hope we have the bid process down pat by now. You can't tell me UM doesn't know the ranges of most schools bid after all these years of doing this.

we have a conference rep on committee, Hogan and ODay each served a 3 or 4-year term so of course we have an idea of bid ranges. And other conf reps probably share info with their schools. The floor used to go up for 2nd and 3rd rounds.

As I understand it, only 2 bids are compared -- those of 2 teams matched up not of all 16 teams matched up in first round; you now just have to beat the bid of the team you play.

schools get a small percentage of gate -- um may top that by what it gets for selling tix.

biggest cost has to be for charters..

Cuz the Griz are gonna feast this Thanksgiving weekend on jackrabbits like a little kid feasts on black olives. Imagine a large male Grizzly sitting on the 50-yard-line at Wa-Griz with little jackrabbits impaled on each claw.

If you don't like it, don't lose to 5-5 W.Illinois the last weekend of the year.

Seems that is the point...they are not happy about it and know it cost them dearly....
