Jack Tuttle likely to Montana - per Lucas Semb / SIKE!

Ok fine, but I hope our recruiting team is also going after kids like the ones from Colorado who aren’t Deion’s Luggage.

Why would a guy with 6 starts at Indiana over 3 seasons and a background like this, move the needle of you?

"Tuttle was a four-star prospect by Rivals and 247Sports in the class of 2018. He was ranked the No. 4 pro-style quarterback nationally by Rivals, the No. 5 pro-style quarterback nationally by 247Sports, and the No. 13 player in California by 247Sports. He signed with Utah out of college and also had offers from Alabama, LSU, USC, Arizona, Wisconsin, and others."

"Appeared in six games with starts against No. 10 Michigan State (10/16) and No. 5 Ohio State (10/23) ... completed 45-of-87 for 423 yards with two touchdowns and five interceptions ... rushed 16 times for 14 yards ..."

He averaged 80 passing yds per game with twice as many picks than TD's.... i will assume that is why he does not move the needle...
His career numbers aren't that much worse than Chambers' while he was at Wyoming, and he played against much better competition.

Which is to say that projecting FCS success from FBS statistics is incredibly hard. If a guy is killing it in the Big 10, he's not dropping down to Montana.

?????

It says in the article he's been in contact with our coaches about an official visit.

Or are you talking about players other than this guy?

Not trying to throw shade, but I was trying to think, who was the last hs qb to be UM's qb1 for the season? Selle and SS-H are the most recent I could think of, but I'm sure I'm missing a couple.
Brady Gustafson in 2016.

Yes! I knew there was another billings guy. Thanks

Gotcha, and yeah, I imagine there are some good players in the portal from CU who otherwise wouldn't be moving. I think we're going after an OL from there, too.

Damn highlight videos only show big plays so I can't really tell about his ball handling skills handing off to a runnning back headed up the A gap. He will need to be proficient at that.

I dunno, seems like a good player to get? Voted players captain, got some starts in the Big 10, strong runner, a gamer like Sneed. P

I would simply get as many good players as I could and have them compete for playing time in practice and scrimmages. Then the best players, I would play them the most. But I would also still try to develop the other players and make them better than the guys who I said were the best initially.

He will be absolutely awesome. The game will be easy for him at this level. I think all of us will be vefy thankful.

JACK TUTTLE:
Prep/Personal: Quarterback for head coach Chris Hauser at Mission Hills High School ... four-star prospect by Rivals and 247Sports ... ranked the No. 4 pro-style quarterback nationally by Rivals, the No. 5 pro-style quarterback nationally by 247Sports, and the No. 13 player in California by 247Sports ... earned a place in the 2017 Elite 11 Finals as well as The Opening ... named the San Diego Section Player of the Year and first-team All-CIF as a senior ... won the Silver Pigskin Award, presented to San Diego County’s most outstanding high school football player ... guided Mission Hills to a 12-1 record, with its lone loss coming in the San Diego Section Open Division title game ... completed 205-of-295 (69.5 percent) for 3,171 yards with 41 touchdowns and just four interceptions ... rushed for 207 yards and a pair of TDs ... San Diego Union Tribune Prep Athlete of the Month for Sept. 2017 ...

I JUST WANT A QB TO BE HEALTHY THE ENTIRE SEASON :) there is a lot to like in the above info...

The guy's college track record doesn't justify this perspective at all.

Wonder why HS QB’s would ever sign here. You can count the # of games HS QB recruits have played in on two hands in the 5 years Bobby’s been here.

Probably Jordan Johnson

Hauck's one-year savior is rehabbing a shoulder injury from early November. His first and last game this past season, nine games in. He played in all of 14 games over three prior years. A Pro-style QB from what I read, meaning he isn't going to win a game for you by keeping plays alive with his legs very often. DId any of you see a quarterback on an FCS playoff team this season who wasn't a good enough runner to pick up chunks of yards & first downs & points with their feet? How about the two finalists upcoming in January? I'll wait.

If not, he'll need a really good offensive line and running game to help keep him upright & effective. Really good offensive line. Kris Brown must be laughing his ass off. By attrition, he gets another year to be the backup, and should finally, conclusively, prove that he wasn't a D1 quarterback out of the gate. But truth is, he knows depth charts are for a reason and Hauck doesn't experiment with positions in the middle of big games.

Good luck to Tuttle. And any HS kid who's signed on or considering coming to Montana deserves everything he doesn't get.

I know it's not a popular take but Kris Brown is a Griz so he's one of my guys until he's not. Glad to still have his lively arm on the team and hope he makes the haters eat crow some day. I think it's even possible to root for future success for Almost Done Deal, Kris Brown, and Danny Britt all.
